Cordelia: What's her saga?
Xander: She's freaking.
Cordelia: About what?
Xander: The Mayor's gonna kill us all during graduation.Cordelia: Oh. Are you gonna go to fifth period?
Xander: I'm thinking I might skip it.
Cordelia: Yeah, me too.
Title is quote from Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Last Thursday I made a Buffy video about Cordelia.
Cordy and the Cordettes
Last Friday I MADE A NEW BANNER!!! I really like it.
I also watched The Glee Project. It was a very intense episode. I was shocked when they revealed that all three contestants in the bottom three were going to stay another week.
I was relaxing all weekend. I finished rewatching Beverly Hills 90210 season 5 and now I'm rewatching season 6.
On Monday, I went job hunting. I have an interview at Stitches on Wednesday.
Today was my graduation day. I have officially graduated from high school. The ceremony was 3 hours long. It started off with everyone standing and singing "O Canada". Then, there was a small speech and they handed out the "big" scholarships. Then, they handed out the diplomas. My named was one of the last to be called. As I received my diploma, I was also given the Susan Hall Memorial Scholarship, which is what they call a "small" scholarship. Anyways, I got a scholarship for $500. After everyone got their diplomas, a lot more speeches were made. At the the end of the ceremony, everyone threw their caps in the air like they do on television shows, even though we were told not to throw our caps.
After graduation, we had spice cake at my house. My mom ordered Chinese food, which was really good. Later, my mom, my brother, and I watched a movie called The Clearing. It was a psychological thriller. The movie was excellent.
My Top 10 TV Graduation Episodes
10. Degrassi Season 9 Degrassi Takes Manhattan: The Rest of My Life
Degrassi's "Degrassi Takes Manhattan: The Rest of My Life" is my tenth favourite graduation episode. I love the opening sequence of Jane, Danny, and Peter sneaking out of class to play live before graduation. I was disappointed that Jane's speech got cut off, but I enjoyed the rest of the movie.
Jane: Hi everybody our teachers fellow students and family deserve congratulations for pushing us towards this finish line. No one goes through high school alone and...
9. Degrassi 519 High Fidelity
Degrassi's "High Fidelity" is my ninth favourite graduation episode. This episode is special because this group of graduates are first to graduate on the show (from the next generation). I really loved Marco's speech.
Marco: And now as we head off in every direction let us remember the ties we have to each other and to Degrassi because the best thing about the past, is that it?s just, it?s a huge part of the future. So to the future, to us. We did it guys.
8. Veronica Mars 222 Not Pictured
Veronica Mars's "Not Pictured" is my eighth favourite graduation episode. The only thing I remember about the graduation ceremony was Weevil getting arrested which I thought was totally unfair. The rest of the episode was completely amazing.
7. Beverly Hills 90210 330 Commencement
Beverly Hills 90210's "Commencement" is my seventh favourite graduation episode. Now, the flashbacks can get a little annoying but I love the graduation ceremony. I love how Kelly's father showed up. I love Andrea's speech.
Andrea: Thank you. Oh, Mr. Meyers, Miss Teasley, uh, fellow graduates, ladies and gentlemen. Uh, today we stand here united as a cla$s. Tomorrow we go our separate ways as individuals?on our own and individually. We do this to follow paths, unfathomable path, which weave before us?We do so with the certainty? with the certainty?that we don't have the faintest idea what we're doing at all?Which could be a very frightening prospect in a world where the? in a world where the boundaries of nations and the balance of nature can change overnight. Except that the years that we have spent at West Beverly have given us the foundation to face the future. But, we haven't just learned facts and figures, logic and reasoning skills, but we have learned the value of friendship? friendship, loyalty, and love? which will not be diminished just because we may not end up together. The memories that we have shared will not go away simply because we do. So even if the future does not always meet our expectations, or the fates are cruel to us at times, no one can ever take this moment from me? From me, from you, from any of us. No one can ever take away this moment in time.
6. Degrassi 1127 Take A Bow
Degrassi's "Take A Bow" is my sixth favourite graduation episode. In all of Degrassi's graduation episodes, Holly J.'s speech is my favourite. I love how all graduates storylines were concluded by this episode.
Holly J.: Well good morning parents, teachers, and fellow graduates. Over the past four years, we have had highs and lows. But, no matter what, we've gotten through with the help from our friends. When we leave Degrassi, each one of us is going to be all alone, facing the unknown and I have to admit, I?m scared. In two days, I?m getting a kidney transplant, and even through I know it can save my life?I?m still worried about the outcome. As we all go our separate ways, whether it's kidney surgery, or moving away to University, or going to the army. I know that no matter how difficult the journey, our time together has only made us stronger. So as we bravely face the unknown, we will take with us four years of memories, and friendships, that will last a lifetime. Congratulations, Cla$s of 2011, and good luck.
5. Beverly Hills 90210 732 Graduation Day
Beverly Hills 90210's "Graduation Day" is fifth favourite graduation episode. I love the intensity of this episode. I really love how Brandon stops Valerie from trying to commit suicide and he convinces her to go to graduation.
Brandon: Thank you Chancellor Arnold. I can honestly say on behalf of our cla$s that we will never forget the years we've spent her at California University. And I think there's only one thing left to say on this momentous occasion, have we graduated yet?
4. Roswell 318 Graduation
Roswell's "Graduation is my fourth favourite graduation episode. I love Max's speech at the graduation revealing how him, Max and Isobel are different. I love the way the exit the graduation on motorcycles.
Max: I'm a member of that group of... outsiders. I always knew I was different and for a long, long time, all I wanted was to be another face in the crowd... but in the end, it wasn't possible. I guess it never was. So from now on, I'll just concentrate on being who I really am. Some of you might not like that. Some of you might even... find that frightening. But that's not my problem any more. I have to be who I really am and let fate take care of the rest. So... thank you, Roswell... Thank you for... for letting me live among you. Thank you for giving me a family. Thank you for giving me a home.
3. Degrassi 724 We Built This City
Degrassi's "We Built This City" is my third favourite graduation episode. I love Liberty's speech as valedictorian. I just love the montage of Liberty, Toby, Emma, and Manny standing at JT's memorial.
Liberty: Acquiring an education is about more than earning a diploma. It?s also about your friends. Who have seen you in your worst moments and love you just the same. Unfortunately, one friend did not finish the journey? his name is James Tiberius Yorke. If JT?s death has taught me anything, it?s that the worst mistakes are the ones you never learn from. And, also, to never, ever take your friends for granted? I?m sorry
2. Dawson's Creek 422 The Graduate
Dawson's Creek's "The Graduate" is my second favourite graduation episode. My favourite part of this episode is Joey's speech. It's one of the best speeches I've heard about graduation. I also love the return of Andie.
Joey: Principal Peskin, our families, my fellow graduates, I stand here before you aware of the similarities that we share. I know that you're feeling, outside of my incredible stage fright, the same things that I'm feeling-- pride and accomplishment, closure and regret, and a hopeful outlook on the future. But I don't think you need me to elaborate on those feelings. Instead I--I wanted to share something personal and tell you that... there are people in my life who are gone now, people I miss very much and people who I am haunted by in different ways, but whether we're separated by death or merely distance, I know that they're still with me because I keep them in my heart. The truth is, in time, that's all that we're going to be to each other anyway, this population of memories, some wonderful and endearing, some less so. But taken together, those memories help make us who we are and who we will be. So whether you're here with each other now or you're merely in each other's thoughts, remember each other on that road ahead. And I hope that no matter where your travels lead you in this life... you'll always take Capeside with you. Congratulations!
1. Buffy 322 Graduation Day
Buffy's "Graduation Day" is my favourite graduation episode. It's extremely cool how The Mayor turns into a snake demon and all the students take out weapons to fight against The Mayour. I just love how Buffy blows up the school to kill The Mayor.
Mayor Wilkins: Well, what a day this is! Special day. Today is our centennial, the one-hundredth anniversary of the founding of Sunnydale, and I know what that mean to all you kids: not a darn thing. Because today something much more important happens. Today you all graduate from high school. Today all the pain, all the work, all the excitement is finally over. And what's a hundred years of history compared to that? You know what, kids?
Buffy: Oh my God. He's going to do the entire speech.
Willow: Man, just ascend already.
Mayor Wilkins: ... for all of you it may be that there is a place in Sunnydale's history, whether you like it or not. It's been a long road getting here. For you. For Sunnydale. There was been achievement, joy, good times. And there has been grief. There's been loss. Some people who should be here today... aren't. But we are. Journeys end. And what is a journey? Is it just.. distance travelled? Time spent? No. It's what happens on the way, it's the things that shape you. At the end of the journey you're not the same. Today is about change. Graduation doesn't just mean your circumstances change, it means you do. You ascend... to a higher level. Nothing will ever be the same. Nothing.Mayor Wilkins: It has begun. My destiny. It's a little sooner than I expected. I had this whole section on civic pride. But I guess we'll just skip to the big finish!
Glee 322 Goodbye
Life Unexpected 213 Affair Remembered
Lux: I stand here today, thinking about the future and what unknowns lie ahead. I never thought I would be up here wearing a cap and gown looking out at so many people that I love, or to graduate high school with all of you. When Math, Mr. Rogers, told me that I was chosen to give the cla$s speech, I didn't think that I had anything worthwhile to told me to just write what I know. To give the speech at Westmonte is an honor. I'm not gonna lie. Everyone just told me to write what I know. Well, I know that two years ago, I never would have been able to write this speech. And I never could have pictured myself going to college, and now I'm going to college with my best friend. I know that in my time here, I have learned more than I ever thought I could. I..I managed to pass subjects that I used to not even be able to spell, like calculus. Like physics. Which I loved because the laws of physics are basically the laws of all the unpredictable chaos around us, there are certain universal constants. Gravity, the speed of light. These constants never change, even when everything else around them does. Life is full of unknowns. And when those unknowns are to overwhelming, it's the constants that we have to hold onto. Like our friends. The ones who are not afraid to tell us that there's no such thing as normal. The ones who have been in our lives for every minute with you, even the hardest minutes. Like those who could have walked away, but chose to stick around. Even though they had their own lives, families. Their own children. Like our parents, because we wouldn't be here without them. Who pick us up when we fall, who come when we call them, who answer when we knock. We all learned what a light year is. And these years together have been our light years. The years where everything became brighter. When we learned that the bright spots in our lives aren't merely spots, but constants. And no matter where I go, or what I do, you are my constant. May you never forget yours. And now if the cla$s of 2012 will turn their tassels. We. Are. Graduating!
