AMD all the way, they're cheaper, almost just as powerful as the Intel counterpart in single core (something like 7% to 10% less) and usually outperforms Intel in multi-core tasks. Plus AMD is doing a great job of letting people upgrade their CPU without having to buy a new motherboard and promising to keep the same socket until 2020. Microsoft already said they won't be coming out with an upgraded Xbox One, if they release something it will be a slim version of the Xbox One or a new console all together. Upgraded version of current consoles are just a bad idea all around unless Microsoft and Sony are willing to let you trade in your console plus $100 at the most for the newer console. All it will do is alienate your customers and confuse the casual gamer.
