They (MS) said that the 360 was going to outsell the PS3 this gen. One big problem it's getting it's royal hiney kicked this fall/winter by Sony/PS3. PS3 has outsold it by 2,000,000 since September. So what now, what will they do to stop the onslaught?

Last weeks sales: PS3 -762,000 360 -472,000

They don't need to do much because so far they are ahead of Sony, do you think the PS3 will carry on selling like it is? Because i don't, at the end of the day Sony are still in last place and it looks set to stay that way for some time.

The PS3 is selling by virtue of good reputation and good games, not from novelty.

The price drop was a jump start, and may be the jump start sony needs to close the gap as it has signifigently shortened.

Dismissing Sony as third is forgetting that Sony is still selling their console quite well even given its still relitively high price.

It's not sony's responsibility to own up to dev mistakes and it certaintly is not their responsibility to put out additional resourses to facilitate bans just because of a bug in one game.

Hasn't everyone been in consensus that if sony did another price drop they'd start catching up?

Well, looks like it happened, good for sony.

Looks like it works like nvidia's 3D set up.

It's a nice option, i'm glad sony is going to support it, but i don't think i'll be using it too much

Anyway, the arcade board is PS3 based and we already know the resolution of the arcade version.

My vote is this is one of those few, magical multiplats that run at a higher resolution on the PS3.

It's not a big deal.

I will still buy it though this gives them no excuse to port it over to Wii.

WiiMan21

I agree, i mean, if and HD console can't pull it off in HD, the wii should obviously be a direct port.

What, with the Wii's superiour GPU and all.

i can understand what the OP was saying but i think its aimed at the wrong people(ps3 users)

if this thread was aimed at all 3 consoles, then it would make more sense, because many console exclusives this gen have recieved support from either sony, ms, or nintendo.

if anything, however, this shows superiority for PC developers. they dont recieve extra funding for a game that goes to the PC, all of the money they pour into the game was their own(i think thats how it works anyways) and PC games are great by themselves, they dont need an "allowance" from "mommy" or "daddy"

Noverech

This is most likely his end game.

However it's not how it works for the vast majority of popular PC games.

They just get funding from publishers rather then from the owners of the systems.

One exeption would be indie games.

but dont console games all have publishers too? dont they give money to the developers?

For the majority 3rd part games yes.

In first party games Sony/MS act as the publisher.

I hate steam. It is buggy and crude, not to mention DD is the devil.

blind fanboy hate thats all your full of

Pff, i hate it for EULA reasons and the fact you are locked in to a single buggy client.

I hate DD in general, not just Steam, i like having physical copies of games that do not rely on a service that is not guaranteed.

dunno, i could think of suitable games for both of the HD consoles.

a lot of the movie games we hate around here actualy have some decent platforming sections, and they would easily catch the kid's attention.

Fortunetly they are useualy multiplat, so just go with what _you_ would like to own.
