My TV's usually on just for the sake of background noise, so I never pay much attention. But suddenly I hear something like a console's start up noise, and I instinctively turn my head towards the screen every time. It's been like this for years! And sometimes even when there's no obvious start up noise, I can almost sense that it's a game commercial. So I turn my head, and sure enough! Anyone else do this?bohemian_bob

No, but I've noticed how TVs emit a frequency when they're on, just by being on, and after being engrossed in something on my computer and not being able to see the TV with my eyes I'll be able to sense if it's on or not (and if someone is, thus, watching it) by that frequency.

Not related to gaming necessarily but it's similar.

If Vista was a party, it'd be one of those "parties" where parents would invite over the local children when their kid got chicken pox.

Oh my god it's so much better. I was either 41 or 42 with 35g when the patch came out, and I installed it Friday. Now I'm 45, I got my mount, and I bought entirely new gear and got all 14-slot bags, all from the new/changed quests. Dustwallow was an absolute blast and it gave lots of gold.

If I'd actually been playing seriously instead of grinding raptors and running around on my mount while listening to Jonathan Coulton songs, I'd probably be 48/49.

Totally worth it to start playing again, and it may in fact hook you once more.

I will say, I've seen a PS3 on this huge (over 60") TV my cousin has and it sure is purty. I don't like any of the games on a personal level and I'm getting a 360 in a month, but the PS3 sure does have some nice, HD graphics.

I'd rather have a 4 GB iPhone than an 8 GB Touch, just because to me, the whole point of having one of the new expensive iPods and not just getting a Video is the ability to browse the internet from anywhere. I've played around with the iPhone in stores and the web functionality, while not that great with Flash and such I guess, is simply badass. So many times I'm out and want to google or wikipedia something or whatever and I think the ability to do that pretty quickly and from anywhere on such a cool device is the ultimate in technology.

I'll pop in here randomly to say that I wish Crysis would come to the 360, because although I just got a 7900GS for my PC, the demo barely runs at anything above minimum settings, and I can't afford to buy any new PC parts.

And the game is awesome. Not just graphically, but it's also a blast to play, which surprised me since I hated Far Cry.

Oddly enough, I have the exact same computer, except I built mine in 2005 and it was with a 6600GT.

I just picked up a 7900GS, and I can max out all the Orange Box games and the UT3 demo at 1680x1050 even with the rest of the PC being so old, so if you get an 8600 or 8800 or so, anything better than a 7900GS, you should be good to go.

Wait, so when you reboot your PC and reboot EP2, it's fine again up until that point?

Hm, now that's odd. Maybe your graphics card has a problem with some effect that's going on?

No, no, I'm not SLIing my 7900GS, I just had the thought as I opened the box that my 6600 is now completely useless, and wondered if there's a way to use it.

Guess not, but that's just as well.

Thanks,

I'm super excited. My 7900GS just came today after 6 days (not as fast as it usually is but I ordered it Thursday night with 3-day shipping so I guess it's to be expected) and in a bit, I'm gonna pop it into my computer and enjoy 1680x1050 gaming greatness!

However, I do have one question, and it's about SLI.

I understand the basic concept of SLI, but riddle me this. Could my 7900GS work with my 6600GT in SLI? And if so, would the 7900GS slow down to the dinosaur speed of the 6600GT or would the 6600GT just handle extra processes?

Should I just put in my 7900, take out my 6600, and cast it into the fires of Mount Doom? Or should I try and do something with it on my PC?

Thanks,

-Ioden
