Make sure that cpu is compatible with your motherboards bios version, I would go to the mobo/website and check for the latest download version for your specific model. If it's not the latest version, download it and update the bios. There are tons of videos on you tube to show you how to do this if you haven't done it yet.

If my memory serves me correct, you can cancel the order and start over, it's a hassle, but it's the only way if you don't want to eat that PSU. Otherwise you will have to buy a better PSU.

I have the wireless 360 controller and it works flawless, comes with everything you need except the charging station for the batteries.

@Splatted:

Have you contacted the seller yet to ask him/her what's going on?

In terms of actual gameplay, only thing you listed that will give you a boost is jumping to the FX 8350

16 gigs of ram won't give you any more FPS (most games want 4-5gigs and you have 8 which is plenty) and the extra hard drives are more of a preference upgrade (hard drives you have now are fine).

Water-cooling isn't needed for a FX 8350 (it already comes clocked really high out of the box, thus it doesn't have a lot of head room for overclocking). Your current CPU cooler will already get it close to 4.5ghz which isn't far from the reasonable overclocking cap

2x780ti's on a FX 8350 might be pushing it (where talking about the same GPU power as 2x690s, so basically 4x680s). FX 8350 is a good CPU but its not even a real octo core + its actually slower clock for clock than your current CPU (its even slower clock for clock than an intel i7 from 2008)

Running dual cards cripple your CPU so if that's the path you want to go, you might want to look up some benchmarks are ask some of the enthusiast users around here

2x780ti to my knowledge (everything I have read) has pointed that you REALLY need at least an intel i7 (either a HIGHLY clocked quad i7 or a hexacore i7). The 8350 is good but its not really aimed for running two $600+ cards

I always thought more was better,in terms of gpu's, so I'm glad I asked.

What are the benefits of 16 gigs of ram as opposed to 8 gigs? Does the higher clock speed in memory actually help anything?

So in you're opinion, Do I even need to go with the FX 8350 and will there be any improvement over my current CPU? Or can you suggest another?

I use a pair of Turtle Beach PX22 on my pc that I purchased for my PS3, I plugged in my daughters Beats that she got for Christmas and only noticed a slightly better sound out of the Beats but, I think my PX22 is more comfortable. Go figure!

I can pretty much play games like Splinter Cell Blacklist, Black Flag, Revalations, all 3 Dead Space's, COD Ghots and Battlefield 3 on high or max settings, but I still get little stutters here and there. On Ghosts gameplay is smooth but the cut scenes get super laggy. I don't O/C since I don't know how to, so I want out of the box performance.

I want smooth game play and this is what I have so far

Windows 7 64-bit

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer 910W High Performance 80PLUS Silver SLI CrossFire ready Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom

CM Storm Stryker - White Full Tower Gaming Computer Case with Handle and External 2.5" Drive Dock

ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD 3D Monitor

I can basically afford 100-150 dollars a month and this is what I was planning. What do you advise? And in what order?
