Horrible news indeed

My thoughts goes out to all Japanese or anyone here who's affected by that quake.

Watching those video was kind of scary, seeing the water moving across land and at one point towards a stree with moving vehicals still on them before the camera cutting off.

Hope the entire nation would be able to recover as quickly as possible in the given circumstances.

Many people confuse between socially accepted and their own opinion

video game piracy is socially accepted. A person who doesn't agree with piracy doesn't make it any less socially accepted.

Lets compare it to child porn for example. A technician who comes across child porn material in a client's computer is obligated to report that to the authority, and yes, there are many people who does that. Child porn is socially unacceptable, that is, its widely frowned upon by society.

The same can't be said about video game piracy. Nobody give a damn whether you pirate a game or not. If a technician come across pirated games in his client's computer, so what? That's normal, more than 95% of his home-user client would have some pirated software in thier PC, nobody gives a damn about it. Nobody is going to report to the authority, and heck who there is to report to anyway?

Society don't view piracy as a crime, they don't and won't do anything to stop it. People don't call the cops or report to anyone if they come across a shop distributing pirated materials. To the society, its not a crime. Its socially acceptable
