Not really. You saved your game with a patch and then that patch was removed. It can't read certain files because the patch is gone. It's the same as saving my game in Marvel Ultiamate Alliance with the patch and playing as the DLC characters and then deleting that patch that makes those characters work and expecting to still play. It just doesn't work that way.

Right, so in the excitement brokered by Forza 3, I decided to pop Forza 2 in for a few spins around the track.

Game boots up, after I hit "A" to continue at the title screen, I get an error DEMANDING that I connect to Xbox Live for an update, because my profile save game requires the latest update.

What gives? I don't have convenient access to live (Xbox has been moved) - is my game really going to refuse to let me play singleplayer?

Anyone heard of this before?

I decided to give it one more go this afternoon. It hit 41... then 50... then 59... then 60, and kept going to 100!

Somehow it decided to cooperate.

Still - rather worrisome/intriguing.

Okay, so this is just weird.

I wipe it with a microfiber cloth, and it makes it to 50% on an install attempt before the message.

I wipe again, and try to install again. This time it makes it to 59%.

I wipe again, try to install, and it only makes it to 41% - where it first started at.

Interesting. How did you end up resolving the issue / cleaning it?

So I borrowed this from a buddy of mine - he has had no problems with the game at all.

I tried to install it, and every time it quits at 41% - says the disc is dirty. I checked the disc, it is not in mint condition, but it doesn't look bad enough to warrant an inability to read it.

Despite this, the game seems to work fine when I play it. I just got past Saren's first trial and immediately after the conversation with the ambassador and the Captain, the game freezes and says the disc is dirty.

Has this happened to anyone? Or is the disc actually messed up? I find it odd that I definitely did not damage it in any way, but my friend had no issues whatsover and I am having problems.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thus far I am thoroughly enjoying it. I will probably end up buying it, but I'd rather not have to buy two copies haha.

I hadn't played NG2 since July (360 at home, me being away and all), and tried to pick it up a few days ago.

Before, I was working my way through the middle of Master Ninja. I tried to load my latest save point, and got absolutely wiped... it was horrific. I fear that I do not have the courage to reattain the mad skillz that are clearly perishable...
