Holy Cow

by on

I just came on here today for giggles. Can't believe I even still remembered my username and password. It's been over a year since my last post. I remember this site used to be my favorite thing, I would spend all day on it. Well, enough reminiscing.

Also, I'm going to see the Dark Knight Rises tonight at midnight. F-YEAAAHH!

How about a movie blog?? (SUMMER MOVIES!!!)

by on

Summer always has the best movie releases. Every year people say "this summer is the best summer for movies ever!!" Yeah, we're all saying again this year. that's because we judge movies on their trailers (which are always great, duh!!). So these are my most anticipated movies for the summer of 2011. Their trailers look amazing. Even though 80% of them will suck in the end, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. here they are:

8. Troll Hunter

The Troll Hunter movie

Seems kinda cheesy. But I like fantasy movies. I'm also skeptical of the 1st person point of view. I'll have to wait and see.

7. Kung Fu Panda 2

You know you loved the first one. And since Cars 2 is coming out, it looks like this will be the best animated picture of the year (it might win the Oscar).

6. Apollo 18

Apollo 18 Movie Poster

I like space. What can I say.

5. 30 Minutes or Less

The whole concept of this movie is funny. but the main reason that I want to see this movie is because Aziz Ansari is one of the funniest commedians in the business and he doesn't get any respect. Will Ferell, Seth Rogen, and Zach Galifinakis are all praised and I think finally people will see Aziz's talent.

4. Don't be Afraid of the Dark

This reminds me of a Pan Labrynth-esque movie (Pan's was one of my all time fave movies). It seems unique, interesting, and scary all at the same time.

3. Rise of Planet of the Apes

I cannot explain why this movie trailer seems scary. I always hated monkeys. They are so similar to us, but they have a brute force. I think they might scare me because they are pure beasts on the inside, yet they are so close to us. The whole concept scares me. Although I hate James Franco, I am slowly gaining respect for him. He was great in Pineapple Express and even though i think he is a D bag, I have to admit he is a fantastic actor.

2. Captain America

There hasn't been a good super heroe movie in a while. My fave super hero is the Green lantern. But I know that the movie will be whored out (i mean they casted Ryan Reynolds).

1. Super 8

I didn't want to be stereotypical by picking this as #1 but I can't help it. I picked it not because it's secrecy and special effects and action. I picked it because it reminds me of E.T. And I feel that not enough childhood movies are being made like back in the 80's and I think this could be one (probly not though). Also, it's being filmed in my hometown.

The Death of the DS

by on

With the release of the 3DS, the regular DS will eventually cease to breathe life. The way I see it, Pokemon Black and White are the death od the DS. It's like Nintendo is saying "It's been a good 6 years. Let's try to give it one last big hurrah to end it." Which isnt a bad thing, this way by having pokemon be our last DS memory(which is always a good one), we will have a strong, positive, sentimental impression of the DS left in our brains. And the DS deserves a big finally, it really does; it's been a strong console and it's provided us with a good 6 years. Now, I don't think that the DS lived up to the Gameboy, but I don't think it's fair of us to expect it to. The Gameboy was phenomenal and once in a lifetime. I do, however, think that we will look back on our time with our DS's just like we look back on the GameBoy today.

So, here's a cheer to the Nintendo DS. You will always be in our hearts.

Thanks for the fun times

What classics need a 3DS remake??

by on

Nintendo just announced that they are remaking a bunch of old cl@ssics from the GameBoy, GameCube, N64 etc, and remaking them for the 3DS eShop (pretty much a virtual console) with 3D effects. With such a long history, the possible line up is mind blowing. So, if you would be kind enough, which of your favorite past Nintendo games needs to be rebooted for their new console?

Personally, i would love to see a 3D viewtiful joe. I love that game so much, it would be amazing to re-play it again, even if it wasn't 3D. Obviously there are a lot more games that I would like. Some include a Donkey Kong, Luigi's Mansion, Minish Cap, SUPER METROID!!!, Smash Bros, and a lot lot more.

I CANT WAIT FOR THE 3DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Epic Mickey really a disappointment??

by on

I was looking at the 2010 Awards here on GameSpot and one of the nominees for most disappointing game was Epic Mickey. I was sad to here this because I really wanted to get this game. Usually I don't let a review influence my decision, but nominee for most disappointing game seemed like more of a big deal than a review.

While I was scanning through the awards, I also seemed to notice that every comment for the most disappointing game award that mentioned Epic Mickey said that it was a great game and didn't deserve to be nominated for such a dubious honor. After scanning 13 pages of comments, I found many many comments praising Epic Mickey, and not one saying that it just stunk. Also, X-Play on G4 gave it a 5 out of 5, which is a pretty bug deal; they are very credible and are probably the most unbiased reviewers I know (sorry GameSpot). So I am a bit confused as to how good this game is. I thought if I searched through some of your blogs (since fellow gamers are by far the best source), I would find something about Epic Mickey, but alas, I found nothing. So I am still as confused as ever.

Also, I am also interested in a bunch of other games that came out this year. But I only want to buy one (I have no moneys). So, is Donkey Kong Returns, Sonic Colors, Kirby Epic Yarn, Golden Eye, Sin and Punishment 2, No More Heroes 2, Metroid Other M, or Monster Hunter Tri (I heard it was good). I heard these were all great games, but I really really wanted Epic Mickey. But if it isn't any good, I would rather have one of these. So please let me know!! I also need to buy some new DS games, I haven't bought a new one in years. I still need to play TWEWY. So maybe instead, are there any 2 DS games you would suggest??

Thanks guys. Please comment, i need help.

My most anticipated of 2011.

by on

10. Mystery Wii Game. The Wii is seriosuly lacking in it's 2011 lineup. I hope Nintendo pulls something amazing from out of their sleeve. They have the capability, but they always fail to deliver. I'm not looking for any one amazing game, just a few unique, creative, nintendoesque games. Hell, I would even settle for a new Wii.

9. Pokemon Black/ White. Screw what everybody says, Pokemon is still fun (even if the new pokemon are really gay)

8. Okamiden. I haven't had anything fun to play on my DS for a while.

7. Shadows of the Damned. If you guys don't know, the mad genuis Suda 51 is working on this. And everything he touches is amazingly amazing.

6. The Last Guardian. I loved Shadow of Colossus for the PS2. I don't have a PS3, but I wish I would have gotten one of them instead of a 360.

The Last Guardian (PS3)

5. Silent Hill 8. During the mid 2000s, scary games used to be very popular on every platform. You had many Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and loads of other horror games on the market. Now, it's all about unleashing bullets and explosions. We need to see more games of the horror genre.

Silent Hill 8 (360, PS3)

4. Lost In Shadow. About 95% of the big titles for 2011 are going to be sequels, which is saddening. I like to see new, unique things, and Lost In Shadow looks to be both.

3. Star Wars: The Old Republic. I don't think I need to explain myself on this one.

2. Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword. Despite what people say, I thought Twilight Princess was amazing. I'm curious as to see what way Nintendo is going to take skyward sword. I actually hope it will be more like Twilight Princess than Ocarina of Time.

1. The 3DS. Nothing in particular; just the whole damn thing. I don't think there is one person who can either A. Say that they aren't curious as to how it is going to turn out. Or B. disagree that it will be the biggest revolution in gaming yet. I am also looking forward to the large variety of games that are going to be coming with it, mostly starfox and Ocarina of Time.

Super Scribblenauts????

by on

I was kind of really excited for this game, escpecially since the last game I bought was Pokemon Heartgold. However, Gamespot gave it a 6.5, which makes me feel that this might be a bad purchase. I went to metacritic.com, and it had an average of 8.5. And the average would have been 88 if Gamespot hadn't ruined it. So this kind of gave me mixed feelings. But in the end, you can't base a decision off of critics, you have to ask the gamers. That's why I am asking you guys, should I buy Super Scribblenauts, or save my money for ssomething useful or better? Thatnks y'all.

Pre-ordered Other M. Thinking about gettin the Prime trilogy.

by on

So I just got back from GameStop. I pre-ordered Other M (the lady at the register was a hotty). I was a bit hesitant but I get a free art folio with the pre-order. But if Other M gets bad reviews I just might not buy it (its only a loss of five dollars). I also bought Metroid Prime for 4$. I used to have Corruption but sold it. I never played Echoes. So I was wondering if I should get Metroid Prime Trilogy or if I should just not bother. Metroid Prime 2 is only 10$, but it would still be nice just having the whole trilogy and i dont want to buy corruption again.

New pic, doubtful about skyward sword, my bracket...

by on

Well, I got a new profile pic but i need to resize it. Its only the second pic ive ever had and I was really skeptical about whether i should change it or not. But i decided that it was time for something new.

Also, after seeing pictures and video of LoZ:Skyward Sword, I must say that I am dissappointed by the art form they chose. I liked the realistic and dark artsyle of twilight princess. And I loved windwakersgraphics but this seemed to mix it and I am sure that it will be a great game but the way it looks is going to bug me the whole time i play it.

Aaaaaaaand, I picked my bracket and I have Mantis and Vader in the final two (not saying who i picked to win) and I also had gannondorf, Team Rocket, and Sephiroth going far. I didnt use any strategies, i just picked who I thought was better, even though I know they wont win.
