Didn't like Dark Souls at all, it pails in comparison to Demon's Souls. From what I have seen and heard of Dragon's Dogma I can't wait to pick it up. Looks like a much better game.-Renegade

Well, I played all three. Over 500 hrs into Demon's and Dark Souls and those games absolutely trump Dragon's Dogma. The intro song at the main menu in Dragon's Dogma is sooo bad I almost didn't play the game. That was a sign of what was to come I guess.

I have over 250 hours clocked into Dark Souls, I'm on NG+++ and still seeing new things and still acquiring rare loot. Buy it without hesitation it's just that good. Also, ignore the difficulty, if you like dark medieval fantasy this game is a must buy and you will forget all about how challenging the game is. Plus, the internet can help you past anything in the game though I advise against using help as the game is best when it's played without any help whatsoever.

I enjoy playing COD on Live but it's ridiculous after paying for the game and additional content I have to pay for the priviledge to play said game with my friends online. It's not that much better than PSN and doesn't offer enough extra features to justify the price tag, anyone that says otherwise is a blatant fanboy who only owns an XBOX 360 and therefore has a skewed review of reality and can't possibly think objectively.

He's right.... they do smell weird. That odor, my friend, is nerd sweat. It comes from the employees, yes, but also the customers. Especially the kind that come in and linger, ask a crapload of annoying questions, and never buy anything.

My god you're right, that's a spot on assessment of what I see pretty much anytime I go to a Gamestop. I make it a point to get what I need and get in and out, I don't understand the people that like to hangout there. What you said made me laugh as it's just so true hahaha.

[QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"]

I just reached the credits in an absolutely brilliant game called Red Dead Redemption. The only major complaint I had with the game was the underwhelming ending. Killing Ross in a duel didn't really give me any satisfaction. It just happens so quietly and quickly. It felt tacked on. It probably didn't help that it took place on a peaceful sunny day. There didn't seem to be any attempt by the developers to drive anything home. There was no emotion. It also didn't help that the voice actor for Jack Marston was rather flat in his delivery. How did you feel about the conclusion to this game?

Vari3ty

I'd argue that's because killing Ross really isn't supposed to satisfactory. The real conclusion of the game, in my opinion, is John's death - his final sacrifice for his family after a game where his sole purpose was to be reunited with them. While the credits might not roll after it, that scene is - for me - where the main game really ends. And that ending was phenomenal.

Back to my previous statement, killing Ross I believe wasn't meant to be extremely satisfying. And really, how much would Rockstar have to do to make a satisfying revenge ending? It would have to be a lot, as while John's death was predictable, it was still shocking to see the main character die after having spent an entire game becoming attached to his character. Jack's killing of Ross just felt more of like what must be done - in the sidequest, you talk to Ross's wife, find out what Ross has been up to - he's a retired man, nearing the end of his life, and not a threat to Jack in anyway - yet Jack must kill him, for his revenge (which ironically, the action of killing Ross shows that Jack will likely follow in the footsteps of John, which is what John didn't want Jack to do).

I hope my ramblings are actually making some sense - I guess I'd counter your criticism by asking what exactly the developers should have done to make the ending more "emotional". A boss fight wouldn't feel right in Red Dead's world, and a longer cutscene featuring Jack arguing with Ross would just feel like a rehash of the John/Ross scenes. John Marston couldn't escape his past, and in many respects his death was the same as Ross's - as you put it, quick and quiet. I personally wouldn't have had it any other way.

'

I disagree. I loved killing Ross' wife and brother before finally hunting him down. I thought this was one of the best endings in games this gen. Also, I hated seeing John die, the scene with the gravesites of him and his wife was one of the more emotional moments I have had with games.

Mostly I'd want the technical problems fixed. Demon's Souls ran well but Dark Souls had some some issues (framerate in Blighttown, for example). Also they need to revert the online system back to how it was in Demon's Souls, Dark Souls seemed to be a step down.

Vari3ty

That's because Demon's Souls has dedicated servers and Dark Souls doesn't. It makes a world of difference.

by FAR dark souls. It has unparalleled online ingratiation online any other game. Character development is awesome. It is extremely challenging. HOWEVER, and this is a BIG however: If you perffer a good story without then without a doubt witcher 2, Dark Souls practicably has none but the gameplay is superb. I'd chose DS over Witcher 2 any day. Trinitarian

Dark Souls has an extremely deep story, it's just not laid right out to the player. If you want to understand the game and the characters, you have to talk to the npc's and read up on the game online, there's lots of lore and story in Dark Souls.

PC: Borderlands 2

PS3: COD:Black OPS

XBox 360: Halo 4 ...simple as that

badlalo59

So you have the option to play the superior version of Black Ops 2 and get all game content first yet you prefer to play it on PS3, why may I ask??

Black Ops 2 will murder Halo 4. The zombie mode alone will be better than anything Halo 4 has to offer.
