My final thoughts on the Great Nerd Wars of Century 21.

If you ever start to feel like you're this guy, just stop.

In a world full of steak, beer, fast cars, awesome special effects driven blockbusters, video games, and BOOBS, you have to consider that you only have a certain amount of time on this spinning blue rock, so why not devote that very limited time to more worthy pursuits?

I'm guilty of succumbing to it too, but I will take my own advice. If I ever feel like THAT GUY ^^ I will stop. Everything.

Back to using Gamespot to talk about games.

Is it time for an olive branch?

I think it's getting there. Don't understand how anyone could still be having fun with this.

Trolling on the internet should not be a full-time job, or even a top 10 hobby. Such a waste of effort.

Yes I'm a hypocrite here because I do get sucked into it, but it's never my goal when I wake up in the morning, I just react to what's put in front of me.

More to come...

I keep deleting my blogs because I have second thoughts about fanning the flames.

I'm Prepared to Eat My Words...

Could it be? Is Splinter Cell: Conviction actually... good?!?

It certainly seems to be the case. I don't think the demo gave me enough of a feel for the game. I can gripe about a laundry-load of things, I certainly don't think it's flawless, could have used a couple more coats of polish and varnish... but I really like the new approach to both stealth and cover mechanics, the mission locales are pretty varied, the story is pretty well-delivered and the combat is satisfying, a bit easy once you know what to exploit, but still fun.

It's more of a Jack Bauer or a Jason Bourne adventure than a typical Sam Fisher game, but I don't think it's been "dumbed down" as much as I initially thought, rather that it has been streamlined to make it more of an action movie and less of an action book.

I borrowed it from a friend mainly to try the co-op (anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for co-op), but the single-player is better than I had previously given it credit for.

I will write up a review once I finish the campaign and try the MP.

ModNation Racers is Incredible.

So it took me a couple of days to fully realize and appreciate the depth of the experience, but now that I've gotten behind it, ModNation Racers is totally incredible. I think many of the reviews have sold it short, between the core gameplay which is a riot, the amount of content already available from United Front Games, and the staggering amount of user-generated content that is out there, this is the total package for racing games, and it's well-worth the ticket price.

This is the game that you play split-screen with 3 friends, and nobody wants to go home at the end of the night. Friends say "I'm buying a PS3, that's it". It's the game in which you can easily join online matches and gain XP to rank up in a competitive environment. It's a game in which you and your friends will easily chew through an hour thinking of Mods to download (EVERYONE is there, from Thundercats, Ninja Turtles, Mario Kart characters, X-Men, Street Fighter characters to obscure movie actors and even dead totalitarian dictators). The challenge is finding a character NOT already uploaded by some sharp mind out there, and you can spend almost as much time looking for content as playing it, without even noticing.

Then we have the creation tools themselves. Incredibly easy to use, but with enough depth to create almost anything you can imagine. Creating and publishing a track is as simple as you could hope. Getting another player to try your map is as easy as driving up to them in the online lobby (MNR's main lobby hub is an online interface full of fellow racers, like Playstation Home, but with cars) and challenging them to a race.

There are enough cars, mods, tracks and modes to keep your racing jones satisfied for quite some time, and when you throw user-created content into the mix, this game goes way above and beyond.

I am going to give this one a full review, so I won't keep hyping it up here, but suffice it to say I love it and think it's just as great and unique as LittleBigPlanet for embodying the Play, Create, Share motto.

If you are on the fence like I was, don't be, this game is awesome. It has been described as Mario Kart meets LittleBigPlanet, and it lives up to both of those names and comparisons.

Red Dead Must Be Selling Like Crazy.

I have friends who have been trying to track it down since it came out and still aren't having any luck. This game is sold out everywhere.

You guys experiencing the same thing? What do we think it will sell after the first full month of NPDs come out? I'm thinking 3 million easy in a month and a half, it will end up totalling 5 or 6 and that's just on the two plats. I'm not an analyst but that's how I see it happening.

DING! Lvl 15.

Movin up in the world, I am.

I have not had any time to play games lately, it's kind of driving me nuts. I am going to buy Red Dead and Alan Wake right away, and I MUST make time to play them, especially RDR. I've been watching all the videos and it just looks mind-blowingly good. It could be the best R* game yet, and that's saying a LOT considering Vice City is arguably my favorite game of all time.

The Hangover part two!

No not the movie, though there is a sequel in the works...

I went out and got wasted again yesterday and once again have a gnarly hangover. $20 for open bar (friend's birthday) so I got lit right up, I probably drank a dozen shots and a dozen more rye-and-gingers. easily. We closed the bar down, and since we knew the owners we stayed in the closed bar until well after dawn, I didn't end up crashing until almost 9 AM. I have a pre-pre-production meeting for a zombie movie I'm going to be filming in about 3 hours and I need to squeeze a nap in here somehow. Righteous.

I didn't manage to make the slightest dent in my games backlog, nor did I see Kick-Ass, nor go shopping. and I broke my gym routine. But was it worth it? Hells yeah! 8)

I'm getting too old for this ****!

When I was 17, 18, 19, I could drink for two days and wake up feeling like Superman on coke, nice and refreshed and ready to kick some ass. Now I can't avoid a crushing hangover pretty much every single time.

Could it be the mixing of shots, beers, and hi-balls? Could it have been general overindulgence? A lack of H2O? Stay tuned to find out!

I'm going to check out Kick-Ass this weekend, it looks sweet and I don't think it's doing as well at the box office as it should.

Kip Drordy had ribs for dinner.

My Batman: Arkham Asylum review is posted!

I know it's late, but I am going to try and write reviews for all of my favorite games dating back to the beginning of this gen. Expect reviews like Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls soon, and I may go as far back as Metal Gear Solid 4, provided I can actually remember it well enough to review it.

My take on Batman: Arkham Asylum is that it's a fantastic game on it's own merit, but when you consider that it's based on a popular intellectual property, it is truly astounding and of remarkably high quality. I called it "one of the best uses of a licensed property in a video-game, ever" and I defy you to prove me wrong!

If you haven't picked up a copy of this, check it out. I got it day-one for $40 because of a deal at a local retailer, and it was a steal at that price.

My God of War III review is posted!

Along with my new review format!

A few blogs back, I came up with the format:

I decided this would be the best way to cover all the important aspects of the game without getting overly verbose and yapping away... well, this review is LONG, so I guess I didn't succeed in making them shorter or more succinct, but I do like the format more, it distinguishes my reviews from those of others and once I have more experience with it I think I'll be able to whittle my word count down. Once I start talking about a game I love, I find it hard to shut up about it.

Anyway I hope you enjoy it, regardless of what you think of God of War III itself.

In defense of my score, since I'm sure a 9.5 makes me a disgusting Sony fanboy, I am not saying it's better than Game Y that I gave a 9.0 on your platform. I am strictly comparing it to other games in the genre that warrant comparison, and as much as possible, on it's own merits entirely with no subtext. I think God of War III is the best action game out there, but I don't think that means it's better than F.E.A.R. They are totally different games that offer totally different experiences. I hope you understand. Before you rip me to shreds for my PS3 bias, take a look at my ratings and realize I've rated every single 360 game I own a 9.0 or higher. No beef, no conflict, just my thoughts yall, just my thoughts (Jay-Z).

Thanks for reading!

P.S. Stevo if you're still here, I relinquish my exile of you, please comment on my blog if you feel like it. I don't know why I was getting so bent out of shape about it.
