I have to agree. I wasn't looking forward to this title but I work at Gamestop so I checked it out. I'm actually surprised at how much fun I'm having. It's still plagued with classic AC issues (such as sticky climbing, T dunno how many damn times I try to run/jog down an ally and I spend 5 minutes arguing with the character who insists on trying to climb every object under the sun) But overall I'm impressed. I liked that the present day is taking a bit of a backseat. I did find the whole Desmond Arc good but I hated how forced it felt. I liked it better in AC 1 and 2 where it most mostly just for easter eggs and bonus info (which is what this one is entirely).

I do wish there was a bit more customization for the ship, outside of just wheel, sails, and bow ornament. I do also miss the throwing knives or bow. I'm about halfway through the game and I have no ranged stealth weapons. Unless I use a berserk dart, but nine times out of ten they start shooting guns and I somehow get discovered even when hiding.

But being a pirate is just downright fun. I honestly hated the navel combat from AC III and was really worried about how it would be in here but it was done really well.

I've been playing GTA since I was a lad, and I am perfectly fine. As long as you let them know that games aren't reality, then I see no problem. However, being a gamer, I'd assume you realize there are a few sex scenes, so make sure you know when they occur and go out of your way to make sure he doesn't see them.TonyDanzaFan

I agree except I don't see the point in stopping him from looking at the sex scene. He's going to find out anyway, and if he's 12? He already has. Hell, any acess to a computer and in 15 seconds he can find a much better "sex scene" than anything in the game.

The ratings on the video games are completely irrelevant, just like ratings on movies. I have an 8 year old and when I was around your kid's age I was playing Doom and the first Diablo. Both were very violent games and there is nothing wrong with me, I had fun playing them. I don't care what games my son plays, as long as it wont give him nightmares and he has fun playing it that's fine. He's a good kid and knows right from wrong. He realizes the games aren't real.

As long as your kid is mentally stable there is no way any game of any rating will have an effect on him. Let him play what he wants and have fun like I did when I was a kid. It wont make you a bad parent. People always wanna think that games you play will make you crazy and do crime but that's total bull.

I remember in the 80s if you listened to Led Zeppelin you were satanic merderers. Which was also bull.

If you've watched the trailers and stuff this wont be surprising, but I'll put a large ++SPOILER++ warning just in case:

According to the trailer the main point of the game is to preform heists. So minor spoiler, shortly after the first heist you start playing as Trevor.

I can confirm that random events repeat. Or at least of the same type. I've had loads of people losing purses/wallets and many robbers of stores. Sometimes even the same store was robbed.

Doesn't look like it. However there are several RPG type stats you can increase, such as stamina, shooting, strength, flying, etc. While they do not have any cosmetic bonuses they do provide gameplay bonuses. More strength will allow you to do more melee damage, and supposedly swim faster and run faster according to in game tips but I haven't really noticed an increase (but I've only swam once and don't run very often to be fair) More stamina allows you to sprint longer before tiring and so on.

You can however choose from a variety of haircuts and beards. Mostly limited at the beginning but hopefully more will unlock thought the game (however I honestly can not confirm as I'm only about 30% through according to the save game stat).

[QUOTE="Johnny_Rock"]

Any true Nord would side with the Stormcloaks!

lettuceman44

Not true. The greatest Nord ever was Talos, and he forged the Empire. Skyrim was the Empire's biggest supporter.
I'm going against the empire because of Thanos and those goddamn elves (the normal ones). rmfd341
The Empire is the only thing keep the Thalmor at bay. Yes the Empire had to make concessions, but read "The Great War", and see that they pretty much had too.

I agree about Tiber Septim, however, he started the empire hundreds of years ago and they have strayed far from his leadership due to the Thalmor. ANd they signed the Concordant because the Thalmor was crushing them. Not just because they wanted to. And because the Empire was not able to keep the Thalmor at bay they outlawed the worship of Talos, which is just wrong.

I'm with the Stormcloaks. I dont agree with everyhting they do or say, but the empire are a bunch of spineless people who can't support themselves.
