seriously, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is an out and out failure as a game for many good reasons.
Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie for the N64 were two of the greatest platformers of it's time right behind Mario. But the developers at Rare just threw their hands up and said **** IT, forget all those great things from the previous best - selling games let's pretty much make a racer with absoutely no platforming challenges".
Creating vehicles and driving them could have been a good idea and addition to the game's gameplay but ONLY if it was a small part of the gameplay and not the whole core which is a terrible idea. There are no original moves from the original games and you don't learn any new ones which is already a stupid, stupid... STUPID idea.
Also a small thing that really got under my skin... WHY THE HELL ARE MUMBO AND WUMBA MARRIED!!! This has got to be one of the stupidest ideas ever. In Banjo Tooie, they hated each other and never got along until the end when they were kicking around Grunty's head and Mumbo says "This is fun" and Wumba agreed... I guess that's Wumba code for please marry and bone me.
Personally I believe this game could have done well, I do but they did something that is just not fair to us as gamers... They falsed advertised. They made us believe that this game was going to be the same as Banjo Kazooie and Tooie with great controls, characters and enviroments but it wasn't the same at all with none of the original controls or enviroments. If they had advertised that this game is NOT a platformer but a racer game then it would have caught the eye of fans of the original games and fans of racing games but they advertised it as the other games and the existing fan base hated it. A good example of this is Mario, Mario is considered the god of platforming games and is nothing but a ****c. Now, is it safe to say that everyone has played Mario Kart?... that was a stupid question I apoligize but Nintendo right off the bat advertise this platforming master has a racing game and it sold like hot cakes and became one of the greatest SNES games to date. Hopefully Rare will recycle this idea for Banjo Kazooie and bring us a game it was suppose to be but that doesn't mean the bear and bird duo can't try other things as well, they just need some more work put into them and better executed... AND FOR GOD SAKES, DIVORCE ****ING MUMBO AND WUMBA!!!!
