Clarification: A bit of a nitpick but this is the 35th Anniversary of "Super Mario Bros." (1985), not "the famous video game character's 35th anniversary" as stated in the first sentence of this article. It would be Mario's 39th if counting from his nameless appearance in Donkey Kong (1981) or the 37th if counting from the original Mario Bros. arcade (1983).

I'm all for people having both options for whatever they prefer. I personally always side with physical media. I just think about all of the DIGITAL ONLY releases on XBL and PSN in recent years that you can no longer buy because the license expired. Since there were no discs made, there's no way to get those games. There are a couple of games I found out about way too late on the Nintendo Store that are long since gone. I want the games but can't get them. And surely a lot of people are done with those games but can't sell them. A friend of mine bought a digital game that is no longer for sale and the system says he doesn't own the game. Well, he can't hop on eBay to get another copy, so he bought a game that he can't play anymore.

One other thing to consider is that with how we're going back and altering/removing movies and games for their "questionable content", it makes it that much more valuable to own a physical copy that can't be changed or taken away. Regardless of what they update, you can always go back to vanilla. The biggest problem now though, is that you buy a Physical copy, but the rest of the game that they add is digital only. So, you buy a physical game but the extra characters and content only exist on your system for your account. This is why I hate things like the re-releases of Street Fighter V where they pack in a DLC Code which I refuse to support, as compared to something like Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition that includes all of the content on disc no matter who plays it.

Good piece. It's fun to laugh at this movie. It's good times. One major thing though is point #37, Ray Park was Raiden's stunt double (fight double) for the fight WITH the Saurians. You don't even have to freeze frame to see it's him doing all the flips and kicks in that scene.

A few minor nitpicks or extra info on these points:

10. Johnny Cage has the "Shadow Kick", Liu Kang has the "Flying Kick". But for some reason they did some sort of hybrid move.

18. First sentence says "Kano" instead of "Jax"

19. Cyrax has a human form. He had Alternate Costumes in MK Gold and MK Deadly Alliance which showed his human face. He had a full human form in Mortal Kombat (2011) aka MK9 in both an in-game and in the story mode.

24. Liu Kang, mispelled as "Lie Kang"

28 - The more obvious fact is that Baraka falling into the pit isn't even Baraka. It's Rain again.

33. Liu Kang, mispelled as "Liu Jang"

I didn't know about Tony Jaa though. Fun times.

Ahhh, Auto-racism makes things so much easier now. No need to follow anything up with hateful words, just reference a culture, and the hate and inferiority is filled in for you! #removeallreferences #toreferenceistohate

The RE, RE2, RE3, RECV Tank Controls:

LEFT turns character LEFT.
RIGHT turns character RIGHT.
UP moves character FORWARD.
Down moves character BACK.

RE4, RE5, RERev Controls:

LEFT turns character LEFT.
RIGHT turns character RIGHT.
UP moves character FORWARD.
Down moves character BACK.

The only difference was that the camera was fixed to the character, not the environment. But people acted like the controls themselves were different. Obviously AIMING was different but the movement was still the same. Even down to holding a button to RUN. But it got a lot of praise for ditching the Tank Controls. All it really did was take the camera off the wall and hang it on your back. Easier to play for most people, sure, but it was still the same movement logic.

RE6 changed this by moving the character in whatever direction you pressed. The camera was no longer stuck on their back. You could rotate the camera around the character, run towards the camera etc. This is really the first time RE changed how movement worked, within the main series.

When they made an HD Remaster of RE Remake, they added an optional alternative control scheme that obviously kept the fixed cameras but moved the character in the direction you pressed. Pressing DOWN for example moved the character toward the camera regardless of what way they were currently facing. Every movement was based on you, the player, not the character.

While I've purposely been avoiding any footage of RE2 Remake beyond a little snippet to see that it indeed looks good and I'm buying it, RE2 Remake appeared to be closer to RE6 in these terms. Which I say, if the goal is to ditch Tank Controls and Static Camera, that's how it has to be.

I'd still prefer to have both as different modes. Even as future DLC, where enemy placement, numbers and overall balance is adjusted to fit into the classic formula. But if there's only one, even as a fan of the old style, I think it'll be fun to have a fresh run through a classic from literally a new point of view.

@gessekai: This is like one of those comments where someone is blowing up over someone spelling something wrong, and then makes an even bigger mistake. (SPOILERS: He laid out this condescending post about reading comprehension and "what you learned in school" but then tells people to read all four lines of his comment. There were three lol. All good. I just had a laugh at that.

Do you remember the episode where Marge had a problem with the violence in Itchy and Scratchy, and after a big uproar they made an episode where they're just sitting in rocking chairs sharing lemonade? That's where we're trying to get to Mr. Groening. I want to see more of that. No stereotypes, no foul language, no religious jokes, no violence, no nothing. Just happy little things sitting, happily and un-offensively. Love Love Love, Share Share Share! But then again... we have to consider that not all people prefer sitting. Some stand, walk, lay down. Sitting might imply laziness or promote poor posture. And there's also the consideration that some people can't drink lemonade. Or have trouble drinking. Also those without use of their legs may feel that you're mocking them by trying to show how boring and unfulfilling life is if all you do is sit. Offense is taken not given. Absolutely anything can be offensive if you make it. One man's Apu is anothers Groundskeeper Willie. Woah, not that it's just about MEN... eaaassy there. I just figured anyone who's on a GAMING SITE has to be a Comicbook Guy or those male virgin computer nerds that appear in various episodes. It's a stereotype that has molded my perception of gamers. Blame Groening for this worst comment EVER!

(In all seriousness, try to enjoy life a bit. This is a GAMING site and all of these topics are about ENTERTAINMENT and FUN. Let's not TRY so hard to fight that. Relax a little. Build that sense of humor. Toughen the skin a bit. It'll be fine. Maybe even create your own things. Even if you still have things that make you mad, creation will drain all of your time, leaving so very little time to complain. Hope everyone has a good day.) "Zepplin Ruuuulllles!!!"
