Nintendo just gaslighted the entire gaming world. First they showed us the pre-Christmas trailer full of simulated Splatoon eSports, racing, series online competition, "hardcore" gamers and rooftop parties. Maybe the Wii U really was just a goof, maybe Nintendo gets it still!
Oops. Bet you'll never feel excitement that way again. Even the January 12th presentation they tried to gaslight us with Breath of the Wild. Watch the YouTube stream in real time and stop it before Zelda plays - it's a total disaster. They flew game devs out to basically have them come on stage and go "*We like Nintendo, we might make some games for the Switch*. It comes out in 6 weeks "we like Nintendo" is too low a commitment level. But everyone watched Breath of the Wild and now we sit here trying to convince ourselves it we didn't just witness just Wii 3.0.
God, to be able to go back to when we didn't know for certain that the Joy-Cons were Wiimotes and Nintendo's "80 games" were a bad After Affects overlay with a static image of Joy-Cons in front of them. Remember when we thought we'd be playing Splatoon 2? Online fees? For the one exclusive online game on your system? Overwatch online is free. I can't even justify paying for PSN anymore for how little I play console games online, you think the average Nintendo fan wants to pony up to play their Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc...
What on earth Nintendo. Stop it. Breath of the Wild is just there to give Nintendo fans Stockholm Syndrome.
