Anyone play it? I recently discovered the BZ community took total control of it after Activision abandoned it. Updates, the server, forums, main site, downloads, etc. I got on but there's not enough players. Its a fun game but I don't think the word has really gotten out much. Anyone here play it? I found out they added AIP in multiplayer with the 1.5 update and they repaired the patches Activision made that messed up mulitplayer. It's pretty cool all the work they've done and its nice that people who actually care about the game are looking after it now, instead of a corperation that only cares about $$$$.

If anyone's interested, I found the main hub site @ www.battlezone1.com. The menu there offers media, downloads, forums, and general information on the game.

Pretty fun, I forgot how much range and ease movement, and freedom the game makes you feel like you have, something I really look for in games. I hope I see a few of you in there. :) Be nice to play large games again, like Bomber matches, Turret vs Walker (mech), Fighter matches, King of the Hill, CCA vs NSDF (Cold War era US vs USSR), Snper matches, Magger (stealth), etc. Bomber, Turret vs Walker, and CCA vs NSDF used to be my favorites. :D

I've been trying to get Sacred Gold to work but can't and it's definitely the sound drivers. If I uninstall them, the game works perfectly.

Someone told me that most new sound drivers default the sound to 48000hz, but there's some games that don't like this, and I need to set it to 44100hz. He told me its in speaker properties... but I CANNOT find anything in Windows XP that will allow me to do this!

I tried adjusting the sample rate conversion quality and the hardware acceleration but that didn't do anything, and Sacred Gold still crashes.

PLEASE help me!! I've been trying to get this to work all week and have run out of ideas.

I'm using Realtek HD onboard audio on a Gigabyte motherboard, and I'm using Windows XP Pro SP3.

Yeah I was looking at that, but a guy I know recently bought Far Cry there and the download didn't work. After a week of hassling with customer service, they got it to work in safe mode. So... I dunno. Is that a rarity with them? They only have a score of 50% on resellerratings.com.http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Direct2Drive

Don't worry. I'm going to put it on a CD, back it up on the PC downstairs, and install it on this PC. So I doubt I'll ever have a problem. Besides the game I want Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, is next to impossible to buy. No one locally has it and I can't find anyone online who has a hard copy of it, at least no store that looks like its trustworthy.

I forgot to mention. The game I want to buy is available on steam but its really messed up and you can't patch it once it's installed. So I can't use steam for this game. So can you guys recommend some good places they've had luck with?

Huh.... you're right about steam working in offline mode. I tried that a few months ago and it didn't work. It just sat there trying to update.Anyway, back on subject. Has anyone had good luck with any pc game download stores?

Yeah, but you have to be online everytime you want to play it, even if you've already installed it. That doesn't work for me because my situation might change and I might not have internet in the future.

It seems like every time a friend of mine buys a game online, they have a problem with the download not working right. Then they have to go through the whole process of waiting for customer service, etc.

So what store have you guys had the best luck with, when buying downloaded games? By that I mean the download working properly and being able toinstall the gamewithout a hitch.
