I would agree I have only been playing Sleeping Dogs for less than 10 hours and it is smooth as glass. I can't believe the quality of graphics and the fluidity of the gameplay. The combat is excellent and the environmental effects, have little to no effect on framerates and performance. A great port, and one I feel they really took their time getting right, a great game that is fun to play. It gives me great hope for Tomb Raider soon to come, with it extremely ramped up invironmental effects this one could slow down some older rigs, but if Square Enix does things like Sleeping Dogs, I believe us as PC gamers, will have another winner!

Do you actually listen to game reviews?, Why or Why Not?.

I used to listen to game reviews but I don't anymore, they are just becoming too biased (and this is not one or two reviewers like Gamespot or IGN, this is nearly every review website/youtube channel/magazine.) Critics will rant on about flaws in one game but if that flaw exists in another game they won't say a thing in that review, perfect examples for this would be:

 • Many critics ranted on about Godfather II being a 'broken buggy mess', (and while I will admit that is doens't take a genius to see that the game has it's problems, it was still an enjoyable game.) but when it comes to Skyrim, no one complained that the game was filled with bugs and glitches that could have easily been fixed if the game had more time in development and the fact that is was completley unplayable on PS3.
 • Many critics ranted on about Tomb Raider Underworld having awful combat, but when it comes to Mass Effect 2, no one complains about it's terrible combat, another thing on this example is that combat was a very small part in Tomb Raider Underworld, but in Mass Effect 2, combat is pretty much the entire game.

Honestly I rarely if ever listen to critics, alot of them are very aggressive even against good titles. I also don't feel most critics even play the games very far, maybe a few levels to get a feel for the game, then write their reviews. Again...very rarely do I pay attention to what they say.

For me personally it is this Forum site, and the player reviews that matter. I do look at the numbers, (ratings from 1.0 to 10.0) these matter yes, the higher the score, the more interested I am to see...is this a good title...and...do I now want to read each individual review. To me these matter greatly...I trust the players...not the critics. That is why I became a member of this site so I could also contribute in this area as well.

I threw my keyboard off my desk when I saw it. Never thought it was gonna happen.

My body isn't even ready yet..... NEED DIS GAME

Masenkoe

My reaction exactly!!! I didn't see this one coming, and I didn't even know it was in development. Grid still is in my top 5 best driving games of all time, so Grid 2 has some big shoes to fill. I will be watching for this one!

I enjoy the debate, but one thing both had in common, Mark Hamill as the voice actor for the Joker. His ability to bring this character to life is top notch! Incredible voice acting in both games that truly set the Joker persona to the top of all villians ever in gaming history. I just hope he'll come back for a third run. Rumor has it no, but we can all hope.

Oh god yes. The story of Ezio Auditore springs to mind. I felt a genuine sadness when I
watched Ezio's death in Assassin's Creed: Embers. His story was written so well, and the human aspect of him really made Desmond stand out as a bit of a one dimensional character.
Also, when I was playing Uncharted 3
and Sully was shot, I really wanted to kill anyone who stood in my way while I played through the Chapter during which Drake thought he was dead. I was very relieved when I found out he was fine.
Fusileer7

I agree from the first moments Desmond discovers messages written in blood in his cell, the dimension and depth of Assassins Creed has really drawn me in. The human story line involving Altair and Ezio, are excellent. Revelations especially was very emotional in how they closed the doors for Altair and Ezio. (Spoiler)

I disagree completely, everything in Arkham City was better. The combat was far more fluid and engaging, the story in Arkham City actually took risks with the Batman story while Arkham Asylum ended like a dumb cartoon, and Arkham City itself just felt more...Batmany. Everything about the presentation felt spot on in AC.

JangoWuzHere

I agree 100%!!! I really felt that AA felt confining, yes I liked the story line and it gave us a first glipse of what it feels like to be Batman, but AC ramps that up considerably. I love the free flowing go anywhere feel of AC. I also love the combat and the storyline, grittier and much more intense. Batman's world is a dark place, and AC really created the mistique of a true DARK KNIGHT! Well done!

I tried FF9 and it is a GREAT game. honestly, i played for an hour and a half and it was more memorable and fun than the entire 20+ hours i put into Kingdom Hearts 3D!!

but the thing is with old games like these, is the graphics.

Dont get me wrong, games like FF9 with prerendered graphics look great for their age!

But there are some games with certain graphics that are very 'unclear' and tend to hurt my eyes.

Final Fantasy 9's graphics r very beautiful but its 'jaggedness' really hurts and strains my eyes.

it sucks for me, b.c i really want to play the game but it strains my eyes.

anyone feel the sAME?

Kocelot

Yes older games may have more "jaggies" that can cause some eye strain, if the game allows you, enable your AA (Anti-Aliasing) not all older games offerred this, but if it does it can help. Also enble V-sync, and check your refresh rate of your monitor. If you have an older CRT, increasing from 60 hz, to 75 or 85 can really make a difference on eye strain. Lastly check your brightness and contrast settings, too bright of a screen causes your pupils to keep small, over time the muscle in your eyes strain and can cause a headache. If you can try an LED monitor, they are amazing at reducing eye strain for long periods of gaming.

Without a doubt, AC series is one of the best PC series of games ever created!!! I have tried using the gamepad only one time and didn't like it at all. The game plays best with a keyboard mouse configuration. I have played every game this way, and wouldn't play them any other way. Once you get your keys mapped, within 10-15 minutes you get a real feel of what to do and when to do it. Can't wait for AC 3!!!

I got my first PC (a Commodore Vic 20) for my high school graduation gift in 1983. I am now 47, and going strong, so I have been a PC gamer, (exclusively) for 29 years. I do believe though some of the best PC gaming ever, was on the Commodore 64, and Amiga, sad these had to fade.
