I'm glad the general consensus is that Etrian Odyssey is a good game, because I've been waiting for it for ages (and its still in the post, but it should be here soon). I nearly bought the Japanese version but decided to hold out when I heard that Atlus had picked the game up. I'm looking forward to playing this game more than anything else right now.

I certainly liked the challenge of the third difficulty of Ouendan. The DS battery may have died several times in the attempts, but I did finally conquer the whole game. There are different levels of supreme difficulty, and I prefer the difficulty that doesn't require you to retread more than 30 minutes of game should you fail, thats just disheartening, but as with Ouendan, the game may be incredibly difficult on the highest difficulties, but the three minute nature of the levels mean that retrying and perfecting is fun rather than a chore, which is what games are meant to be about.

I'd say that the popularity of FFXII on PS2 means that it might. Plus, if Square is bringing Chocobo Tales and Crystal Chronicles outside of Japan, why wouldn't they do the same with FFXII? No date as of yet, but I think its safe to assume we'll be seeing it soon enough in English.

If you don't want to convince someone, don't post in the thread... Simple eh? You need to buy a DS largely because of the huge amount of great games you can buy for the system, Advance Wars, New Super Mario Bros, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, Bleach DS (1st or 2nd), Yoshi's Island DS and Meteos should all be on your list of games to buy. Better yet, the DS has loads of great games coming out this year (or are already out, depends where you live), importing for the system is easy and opens up another vast library of games if you can read a little Japanese or buy a game that doesn't require much in the way of reading (Ouendan again). You've can also play online with selected games, Square-Enix seem to be giving a lot of attention to the DS too, which is great for RPG fans, and there is no shortage of first or third party games for you to choose from. Its certainly my favourite handheld around.

A little bad luck, thats all. I didn't die at that point, but I have died having not saved for 30 minutes before, and that was irritating, but I didn't hate the game for it. Remember its a throwback to the days of the NES, games were difficult and harsh back then (or maybe thats just because I was 6 years old and rubbish at games). Also, just remember to save every time you are on the world map, and once you start getting into your chosen job you'll find you are much stronger and won't be dying as much. Don't give up on it, its a great game!

Well, they are two completely different games! If you can't afford many games and you want a game to last you for a seriously long time, then Advance Wars is the game to go for. Lunar Knights is great but won't last you anywhere near as long. Plus you can make your own maps on Advance Wars and challenge yourself.

Ugh, why can't everyone just accept the merits and failures of each and every console? Yeah, I like the 360, and the PS2/GC/Xbox/DC/N64/Saturn/MegaDrive etc etc, and of course the SNES is one of my favourite consoles of all time, but constant arguing over one console being the definitive best is just pointless. Everyone should just go to a car boot sale, buy a few old consoles build up a collection for them and begin to realise that there is no clear winner (and no, sales of PS2 do not count, especially when the majority own only a FIFA and a GTA game). You're all supposed to like games, no matter the platform!!

I enjoyed PDZ from start to finish. Definitely not the best game I've ever played, but still a 7 or 8/10. It didn't outstay its welcome either, being a fairly short game. It is rather different from most FPS I've played and is very much like playing an N64 game with a dual analog control, but get used to the games individualities and you'll have loads of fun. You'll also have lots to do with the game and the achievements require a good deal of work to be put into the game, as opposed to the games that give up 1000 points for mere completion of the game.
