Yeah the game had really poor advertising outside teh interwebs, if it had any at all. It's sad that people on my class were drooling all over TF2 and Hellgate when they came out ..but only one besides me even knew what Crysis is. And those were people with top of the line rigs at the time.

Maybe they thought that their target audience, the people with high end rigs, are also the people who keep on track with this sort of things anyway.

EA has gotten a lot better lately.

We have to move on to hating Ubisoft and Activision.

Go buy a video game magazine (EGM, Gamepro, etc), they don't review PC titles. pc gamers have their own magazines (PC Gamer, etc) and they don't review video games. In the real world, its well known that PC gaming and video games are not in the same boat. Halo 3 will come out on PC. Thats fact. At the same time that didn't stop it from selling 5 million+ copies on the 360. The crossover is so minor thats its irrelevant. Likewise Starcraft came out on the N64, lol but that didn't stop people from buying it on the PC.

Hermits ignore these facts. Hermits could get Madden, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo... maybe 5% of potential buyers would buy the PC version rather than the console version. Thats irrelevant. Thats close to zero impact. LOL, that 5% is like the margin of error.

Our taste in games is definately closer to each other than it is between any other two groups in system wars, and Microsoft is a unifying factor as well. But there are about hundred other reasons why lemmings and hermits will never get along. Starting from loosing exclusives to each other and having to downplay the other platform because of that, most lemmings loving Ms while most hermits hate them, the most unified and also the most closed platform against open PC platform and so on.

Every now and then there is someone bringing this subject up, but just face it, there will never be any sort of peace between herms and lems. The Xbox ironically competes with PC much more than PS3 or Wii ever will, and thus there will always be more fighting between herms and lems than for e.g. between herms and cows.

It definately grows on you. At first I could barely play it with the bugs and massive system requirements so I shelved it, but after I had upgraded and patched, it was pretty good, and it just got better and better. I've spent about 50 hours on it according to xfire but didn't finish it, unfortunately I formatted and lost my save games so I haven't bothered to get back to it. :(

Good things:
- Beautiful and varied environments
- Huge world that isn't divided into zones/no loading times
- World is filled with life, animals, monsters and other NPCs everywhere
- Leveling your character is very well designed
- The game simply doesn't make compromises like so many others these days / not dumbed down

Bad things:
- Bugs
- System requirements
- Flame Sword was too good / easy to get early in game
- Combat takes getting used to and is still unbalanced in many ways:
* Some animals are over powered
* Orcs are under powered, see below....yeah I killed 'em all

They may be compressed but the difference is negligible. Cars in GT5P > Forza, Environment in Forza 2 > GT5P, its the same tune that has been said forever.

Screenshots rarely do a game justice.

I have to say this is the biggest graphical letdown I've witnessed, the way cows were talking I was expecting something way better, those pics don't look any better than majority of current racing games, and in many ways they look far worse.

But you live and learn. From now on I will never hype graphics untill I see a real gameplay screenshot with the HUD and all visible.
