How would playing a SNES game online even work? There are no online features on the games themselves.

I owned the first one on TG-16. Can't say I was all that impressed. It was bright and colorful, so it made good use of the hardware. It just wasn't all that fun to play.

Also, though many poo-poo it, I really enjoyed "Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire".

MAILER_DAEMON

It's on my wishlist. It looks very fun. Basically Doom with a Star Wars skin, but that doesn't sound like a bad thing to me. But I'm looking for the PS1 version; I only get N64 versions if it's the only affordable option because I hate the controller.

Good luck then. It only came out on N64 and PC (Windows 95). >_>

Doh! I saw "Dark Forces" when I saw Shadows of the Empire. I already have Shadows on N64.

So much fun! I loved the added content, the voice-overs, and new renditions of the music. And the controls were spot-on, something I feared for before playing it. And dang is that chase sequence hard at the end. A lot harder than a simple rope climb like in the first one. A lot more attention to detail in this one, than the original, as well.

It's totally worth playing through both the original and this remake. They really do feel like 2 totally different games in the same franchise, even though many areas are very familiar.

I want to see a lot more remastered 2D classics like this!

Then I'll probably be getting one, unless it's some $90 collector's edition or something.

Tyrian 2000 for PC. Which is an absolutely awesome 2D shoot-em up with upgradable ships (spend points for upgrades), lots of options to upgrade with, great graphics and nice soundtrack, and lots of levels and unlockable bonus levels!

Highly recommended for shoot-em up fans!

Just picked up an XBox Live Point card for DuckTales Remastered!

You're not going to wait till the retail version? I personally like having things on my shelf so that's just me.

Only PS3 received the physical release. And it's not a disc anyways, it's just a card with a download code, but it comes in a nice case.

It depends on the game, really. If it's cheaper and easier to just get the game on Virtual Console, then I will. But if the game is affordable, I'd prefer to have the original version.

I've bought the following games on Virtual Console, mostly due to these particular games mostly being cheaper in Virtual Console form:

  • Blaster Masters (Okay, this one is affordable in it's original form, I just had some points left-over to blow)
  • Breath of Fire II
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Dungeon Explorer
  • Kirby Super Star (Nintendo Club Points download)
  • Lords of Thunder
  • Neutopia
  • River City Ransom
  • Secret of Mana
  • Super Star Soldier
  • Zoda's Revenge: Star Tropics II

I REALLY, REALLY wish Capcom would've released Duck Tales 2 via Virtual Console. Maybe Wii U Virtual Console, some day.
