Big Game Purchase

Got a BUNCH of games, that I probably shouldn't have...I have a problem, but it's a fun one!

  • Air Fortress (NES)
  • Capcom Classics Mini Mix (GBA)
  • Chrono Cross (PS1)
  • Double Dragon II (Game Boy)
  • Final Fantasy: Adventure (Game Boy)
  • Final Fantasy: Legend (Game Boy)
  • Gradius Galaxies (GBA)
  • House of the Dead 2 (Dreamcast) - This was a replacement copy. The one I had, strangely enough, glitched out every single time on the 2nd level and all the enemies become invisible, despite looking to be in perfect condition.
  • Legend of Dragoon (PS1)
  • Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super-Heroes (Dreamcast)
  • Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (Game Boy)
  • Ninja Gaiden Shadow (Game Boy)
  • Sega Classics Collection (PS2) - From what I understand, this isn't the original versions of the games, but rather the 3D remakes from the Sega Ages discs on Saturn.

And these my aunt gave to me at a recent family reunion just because she's moved onto the PS3 and she found these collecting dust in her closet:

PS1:

  • Driver 2
  • Fear Effect
  • N2O: Nitrous Oxide
  • The Next Tetris
  • Nightmare Creatures
  • Parasite Eve II
  • Top Gun: Fire At Will!

PS2:

  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Killzone
  • Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk
  • And a stack of PlayStation Magazine demo discs

Amon Amarth - Deceiver of the Gods - An epic album of Asgardian proportions!

Listen to the freaking amazing title track here, "Deceiver of the Gods", which is also available for free on their website for download:

Man would I love to have that collector's set, but I'm listening to the YouTube links and completely falling in love with this amazing metal masterpiece. Best Amon Amarth album yet, and that's saying something! On my next check, whether my Best Buy has the collector's edition or the regular edition, Amon Amarth will be getting my money for this one.

Essential Metal Albums and Monterey

I got some ESSENTIAL metal albums on the cheap at a used record shop while in Monterey with the wife for our anniversary trip this weekend:

\m/

While I was in Monterey I had a great time. The aquarium was cool. Cannery Row was overwhelming with all the people. The beach was a lot of fun. The used record shop where I got all these albums was awesome. And I went and saw the Computer History Museum in Sunnyvale, which was great. I'll post another blog about that one with some pics after I get them uploaded to hosting site.

Just got some killer titles with some early birthday money!

Star Trek: Into Darkness Rocked!

Just got back from Star Trek: Into Darkness. AWESOME! I loved it! Much better than the first one. More emotion and meaning behind all that fabulous action, which made it all mean so much more than it did in the first film, IMO. If you've been questioning whether to go see it or not, definetly go see it!

Green Lantern #20, Amazing Send-Off To One of the Greatest Runs In Comic History

http://media.dcentertainment.com/sites/default/files/styles/blog-latest-blocks-440x330/public/field/image/GL_Cv20_ds.jpg?itok=uSdovziK

PLEASE tell me somebody else read this, here. Such an amazingly, epic, and satisfying end to an amazing (and long) run.

At first I was like "EIGHT DOLLARS?!" But then after I read it, I realized it was more than worth the entry price. (And the thickest single-issue, non-prestige format, comic I have ever seen!)

Incredible, epic story. A fantastic tribute to the character of Hal Jordan and the mythos that Geoff Johns laid down for the GL Universe.

I've got to say, in the main-story at least, Sinestro shined even more than Hal did.

And what a classy act by DC to give Geoff Johns the respect he deserves on what will likely go down as one of the greatest runs in comic history.

Any fan of Green Lantern, or super-hero comics at all, NEEDS to go out and read this comic. This is why we read comics!
