I only got mine in February 2008, and I'm already enjoying this console a lot.

Bowser on his Bowser Bike, I've used this combo since when I first got the game (and I've always used Bowser in other Mario Karts), before I realized that it was probably the best vehicle in the game.

TERRIBLE NEWS!!!!

I think they're testing the waters to see if they can still be successful without hardcore games. I say no more!!!! Everyone must band together and not buy a Nintendo game until next year in order to show them a message. WHOS WITH ME!!!! THIS IS SPARTA!!!

Wii_Fitness

Your gimmick sucks. Please stop.

[QUOTE="DraugenCP"]Rare - got a megaload of crap over them after their switch to Microsoft, being labeled as 'traitors' etc., while that is absolute bull. Even though it's part of a huge company (Microsoft of course), the Rare spirit is still there and the games are still crafted with such love and care as is unseen in the gaming world. Hewkii

and there is no exception to that statement at all.

Heh, but the exception confirms the rule. After the mediocre reception of Grabbed By The Ghoulies and relative tranquility around the company as a whole, everyone labelled them as dead or evil traitors. And, as said, Rare even had the occasional miss in the old days.

I don't think they should focus on a particular genre, but rather use the machine to its full gameplay potential within multiple genres. I'd like to see some more platforming action, as there really hasn't been a lot of that since the N64 action, and Galaxy demonstrated that it can be better than ever on the Wii. Apart from that, I'd be really curious what Nintendo could do in a new Star Fox game when combining it with the new control scheme.

If you take a look at the E3 conference you'll realize that Microsoft are already trying to get feet to ground in the casual market, without it being as much as Nintendo, but still. Especially Europe has a huge growth potential, and I doubt they'll just let Nintendo go their merry way and take over every household. Sure, Microsoft is doing fine with the 360 being quite popular among normal gamers, but if they want to try and start dominating, they'll need to do more, and attracting more crowd than the usual suspects is one of them. The effect of the Wii's strategy is already showing because the Wii has the most sold units if I'm not mistaken, but if you really want to look at the effect of the casual market being involved more than ever, look at the Nintendo DS. Due to it's lower price and simpler use, it already found its way into millions and millions of casual hands, and I think that shows there are a lot more people out there that can be 'seduced' to buy a video gaming console, and if Microsoft and Sony don't do anything with that fact eventually, someone will need to pinch me to check if it's real.

I ran out and got Mario Kart (Wii) just as soon as it came out. I was so excited to play it with a motion sensitive controller. I began playing it and loved every second... of the Time Trials.

VS mode is totally stacked against the players; so much so that I'm pretty much done with the game. Even on NORMAL, I get constantly rocked by every shell and in-track annoyance in the game. A friend of mine borrowed it today, and I honestly don't care if he brings it back.

Done...

TheCyberKnight

I don't think it's as bad as they say. Double Dash was equally biased, items-wise, but in Mario Kart Wii enough skill will get you to finish first most of the times. Of course there are races when everything is against you, but I've driven plenty of races in 150cc without getting hit by something other than Lightning. I got a star on every GP within a week, so I don't think it was that hard.

Atheism definitely isn't a religion. That word would imply that atheists at least have a basic set of moral and political similarities, and abide to some rituals, which isn't the case. Although you have atheist leagues which generally embarass themselves by trying to prohibit anything that even smells like religion, atheists generally aren't organized, and are only bounded by the fact that they do not believe in a godlike power being responsible for the creation of the universe. A religion would imply it is more than that, but it isn't.

It alway makes me laugh when nonbelievers try to talk theology. God spoke the universe into existance. God is something, our divine Creator, not nothing.

It's not that, it's just the way christians like to place themselves out of rational discussion because with their 'reasoning' they can verify pretty much anything as they don't have the burden of (concrete) evidence. However, in science one does have the burden of evidence, or it wouldn't be science. That being said, we do not know yet what was before the big bang, and how it was possible that nothing became something. We might not find out in the next century, or the one after, or perhaps we'll never know, because while science is all about solving problems and finding answers, it has no guarantee. For me, admitting that I don't know completely how this universe came to be sounds more reasonable than saying a wizard did it, basing all evidence on unmaterial and unmeasurable evidence.

That isn't to say I don't think others have a right to believe what they want, but this whole argument of 'you don't know how this and that works yet, so you are completely wrong' is just plain ridiculous.

First of all, PANTERA is REAL metal.

If a song is REALLY hard in a video game, it must mean its REALLY hard to play in real life right?

Dragonforce can't even play their OWN songs live, because its too fast, their used to having a computer program clean up their messy playing and speed it up. PROOF: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bblDQiGAni8

Heres the super intense intro riff from Fire and Flames:

6-6-6-6-6-6-8-6-6-6-6-6-6-8-6-8

If you've played guitar before, that is pretty ****ing easy. And before you come running in here waving your arms telling me to take a music theory **** I'VE BEEN PLAYING FOR 10 YEARS. I know there stuff is anything but innovative.

So what it comes down to is that, like them or not, Herman Li is a horrible guitarist, All of there songs sound the same, they cant even play at the tempo they recorded with LIVE, theres not a single live video of them playing some song CLEANLY, and they are anything but technical.

-

With that knowledge, people, do yourself a favor and listen to some REAL technical stuff, you know, like Metallica? Or some REAL innovative stuff like Pantera or Van Halen.

DlMEBAG

I agree with your point on Dragonforce - they suck and they can't even play their own songs live. But I quit this whole 'only listen to true real metal argh!' thing when I was like 13. On another note, I wouldn't consider Pantera or Van Halen very innovative, as their music seems very basic to me. What I'd call innovative is Virus (the one from Norway), Ved Buens Ende, or Fleurety.

I don't think the games you listed were hyped. People just looked forward to them a lot, but in my experience it wasn't like the media attention they got grew like an unavoidable fungus over all aspects of life, as was the case with GTA IV and Halo 2 & 3.
