Game Fuel and MW2 at 1am.

I thought I was weird going to 7-11 at 1am to get a slurpee. When that thought was undermined by a gentleman who pulled in just before me. Adorned with a ragged pony tail sticking out of a faded blue ballcap. Plain grey t-shirt with some symbols that have any meaning only he knows, with hand made cut off sweat-shorts. That's right shorts. And Minnetonka moccasin sandles alla pocahantas style. Cheers to you sir. I hope you enjoy that breakfast I saw you buy:

a 6 pack of bud light in a can, a bag of pretzel sticks and 2 whatchamacallit candy-bars.

To each his own I suppose.

Now if you'll excuse me I have headshots to dole out and invariably headshots to be given.

Or even more likely

Thanks a lot Xbox Live. I'm glad I pay for you while gamers host the servers.

This post is about the anime Gurren Lagann. Now I myself am not an avid anime buff. But I've enjoyed it here and there for quite a long time.

Gurren Lagann Title

I had heard about the English dub of the series that so many "purists" were terrified of. I was happy about the news myself as I prefer the English versions of most animes.

When I was browsing the extremely limited anime section on my Netflix account. I noticed this had been added. I quickly added to my streaming Queue and quickly set about watching it.

But later on after becoming enthralled by the show I discovered a huge mistake Netflix had made. You see there's a huge plot twist at episode 7. One that I missed completely as Netflix is missing that actual episode...but has it listed as being there. In other words episode8 is actually episode9 and one episode is shown twice.

Unfortunately for me a major character loses their life in the episode they missed and I found out in the previews for the one after it. What a let down. Looking at the reviews of the show on Netflix only one seemed to notice, but this was months before I watched it. Apparently Netflix doesn't care to respond to such a huge error.

I'm hoping in the coming months they will fix it, as it is a great show. If you haven't seen it yet, and enjoy giant robots killing each other, and humor than probably should.

Then again, there's always watching it just for Yoko. 8D Her fan service is apparent but done typically humorously. I know some are heavily against it, but I myself don't mind it as long as it doesn't break from the character.

NBC, No Broadcasting Competence.

Posting this blog my very first blog infact, because I'm still dissatisfied with the idea NBC had to stop broadcasting in the Hockey Arenas of both Detroit and Pittsburgh. This dead horse is still twitching for me.

We're witnessing a great series so far. No matter what your opinion is on the calls being made or what team you express your love for. We're seeing some great hard nosed hockey being played. What better way to enjoy that Hockey then with friends and family at the Joe? or at the Igloo?

Well in this case it has not and will not be an option for anyone. Instead you'll have to relegate yourself to a bar, a friends house or if worse comes to worse at your own house. Not that there's anything wrong with being alone or with very few people. But speaking for Detroit and the Metro area because that's what I'm familiar with, Hockey finals with the Wings involved is an event. It's a manifestation of what our community actually is but is rarely shown in the media. With all the economic woes surfacing almost daily, it's nice to sit back with friends, good food, good drink and cheer and boo with the best of them.

Some might also say going to bars etc...is an acceptable alternative for not being at an arena. But tell that to all those who have children to take care of, or a tight budget, getting into the Joe was only 5 bucks.

It really is a shared experience, but because of an executives decision to push for even the smallest scraps of ratings %s. That community will have to try just that much harder to organize itself, and become just a little bit less mainstream.

Pessimism aside, GO WINGS!!!111
