Greetings! I'm not to sure if this is a correct place to post this or if I should be posting this here at all and not some website solely dedicated to computer support. However I have a interesting issue. When I turn on my computer, the computer makes all its normal sounds with no unusual beaps and or sounds the fans start the harddrive light blinks as if windows is loading but the monitor stays blank even though it is on. The light indicating that the monitor is on is a dimed out green rather then a bright green indicating that the monitor is on, and not a yellow indicating that the monitor does not have a signal or if it is asleep and I am unable to turn the monitor off with out unplugging it. If I do unplug the monitor wait a few seconds and plug it back in sometimes the monitor will provide a image and I am able to do things as normal.

The monitor also does this if the computer goes to sleep, I move the mouse the computer awakens but the monitor itself refuses to show an image untill I unplug and replug it [sometimes it takes sevral times of doing this] unless it has been on recently then it shows an image right away. If the computer has just booted into windows for the day and the monitor hasnt shown a image at first when I do the unplug/replug thing and the monitor loads up its at the login screen but at a lower resolution untill I login to windows the monitor blinks and then it shows the resolution ive picked for my desktop [1680x1050]. I am asuming this might be a issue with the monitor in that its dieing cause its sevral year old, but at the same time im wondering if it may be a video card issue. The card is a GeforceGTX 465 with the latest version WHQL certified drivers installed ive not had any issues running any sort of games at max settings. Any suggestions?

Almost forgot to add- The monitor is a LCD monitor model Acer AL2216W

I'm havin the same problem . The video is loading to 3/4 of the circle then nothing . This happens with mozilla , with Chrome works fine , but I want to use mozilla and not chrome .

I am also having this problem with Firefox version 3.6.3. I tried IE and it did work with that browser.

Having same issue using firefox. Video loads 3/4 way then stops and doesnt play.

Well, Just to verify it wasnt some sort of short in the components itself. I unhooked the psu and pluged it in by itself. It still triped the breaker. Fun times.

Was plugging it into a surge protector. I plugged it into another plug else where in the house and it did the same thing. Triped the breaker. This specific breaker had little to no things plugged into it so I dont think I overloaded it, so I am asuming it is indeed the power supply.

Greetings.

I am unsure if this is even the right spot to post this or if I should even be posting here in the first place, but maybe one of you guys can help me out. I recently ran into a problem with my main computer. It was running fine the other day when all the sudden out of the blue what seemed to be a power outage happened. At first thats what I thought, so in a hurry I unpluged my computer before the power returned so that a surge wouldnt blow it up as the power came back. Then I looked around to see power was on in the rest of the house.I quickly went to the fuse box and it turned out the breaker had triped. I flicked the switch and turned it back on.

Returend to my computer pluged it in. Went to switch it on and it happened again. The breaker triped. Now I began doing trouble shooting at this point. The wiring is quite old in this house, as is the breaker the plug that my computer was plugged into. I unpluged varius things and fliped the switch and pluged only my computer in. Went to switch it on and it happened again the breaker triped. I have not tried plugging in else where in the house to see if it happens to other breakers because 1. Im not sure that would be wise. And 2. This house again is quite old and theres not many other grounded plugs.

From what I said. Does anyone think its a electrical problem or a problem with the power supply in the computer itself and I should go about replacing it.

Thanks in advanced.

Edit: Just to add, Once my computer was unpluged and everything. Other things plugged in the same outlet are working fine including a computer that has smaller power supply then the computer I am having problems with. [The one im having problems with has a 1100Watt PSU compared to the one I am on now that has a 650WATT PSU]

You do infact have a intergrated card. Theres some things I could suggest but beyond that I cant really help.

A. Contact the company you got your computer from support and see if they can tell you what to do and what you can upgrade on your system.

Or

B. Take your computer to any computer repair shop and see if they can check out your system get information on it and tell you how and what you can uprade.

Im betting if anything, You have a intergrated video card. Check in your bios once you got a new video card if it can be disabled because sometimes the intergrated card will conflict with your new one. Also try to upgrade your ram to atleast 1gb or so. To confirm what the problem is and why the game wont run or wont run correctly on your system try using

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/

Im pretty sure I saw medieva2 on the list of games a second ago. That site will scan your system and determine if you can run it and tell you what you need if you cant run it.

Sorry if I am not much help.

From the looks of your ram im guesnig you might have a intergrated video card thats using part of it. If I were you I would try to find -if you havnt already- information on your mother board and bios, check if the on board video can be disabled in the bios and see if your mother board can support a newer video card. Try upgradeing your memory as well.
