Games I have NOT finished (elusive endings for me)

This is a list of games I've started at some point in my life and for some reason I have not finished. Initially, the main reason was I did not know how to finish it. Others, I've played almost to the end and left them there, as I got bored of it or I got involved with another game. I'll try to place them in order, but some might be off. Eventually, my goal is to remove and close this stack by finishing each and every one. We'll see...

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

I cheated to beat Mike by using a Game Genie, and still managed to beat him ONCE!

2

Adventure Island

Even with Game Genie codes, this game is HARDCORE! The farthest I got was 2 levels before the last castle. Really tough game.

--
24

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel

Same as above.

--
23

Army of Two: The 40th Day

Started it with my sister-in-law who was visiting. We'll finish it when she gets back for another visit.

--

Max Payne 3

Love the story, but there were other games to pick up at the time. I bought this game along with 5 other and a sale. If I'm going to finish it, I'd like to tackle as many trophies in one sitting as I can.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (1993)

Got it as a gift download from a friend. I'll eventually start it. Back when this came out for the Game Boy, I played it lent from a friend one day. I finished 2 bosses in a day, so I was doing good.

19

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

Got it as a free download for my 3DS. I'm playing it co-op with my wife, but it's slow to progress.

3D Dot Game Heroes

Super awesome game, but it will take a while to finish, and flashier games are coming out that I can finish quicker, so it goes to the shelf.

--

Shadow of the Colossus

A friend lent it to me. Got to the 10-11th colossi but I had to give it back. I need to buy this game and finish it. Really good.

14

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Have this for the Wii. Got stuck in a dark Prince sequence that was a bit rough to get by. Haven't touched it in over 4 years.

--
11

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy

Started really good, but it got to a point where juggling powers and shooting got too muddled. That plus the level where weird monsters phase into your reality and act as mines was so tedious I stopped playing it there.

Kingdom Hearts

I know a lot of kids from the 90's and after love their Pokemon and their Kingdom Hearts, and that's where I draw the line. I tried to play this but got really frustrated with the controls and nonsensical story to cash in Disney properties with a Square storyline. This is where Square/SquareEnix started to plummet for me. And this is coming from a hardcore Final Fantasy (original game) fan talking.

7

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons

This one goes hand in hand with the one above. Started both on some friend's Game Boy Advance for a summer and did not get that far. I did buy it on the 3DS, so I'll tackle these soon.

4

Rygar

Played it at a friend's house and never could get far. I did see my friend finish it, though.

25

Borderlands 2

Currently playing (as of October 2013). I play it co-op with my wife, so it's slow. But we did the same thing with the first one and we ended up finishing that one. The outlook is good; this might be the first one off this list!

3

Deadly Towers

This game is hard, but because of difficult gameplay and absolutely no maps or waypoints to get you to your goal. I believe I managed to take out 4-5 of the 7 guardians before the final guardian, but never found where it was. This took me YEARS to find out, and still I never finished it.

Ikari Warriors II: Victory Road

Bad game. Bought it for the wrong reasons (to play co-op) and got to the final boss several times, but could never beat it.

Ninja Gaiden (2004)

Bought it for $20 and with nostalgia in my mind (I finished the original NES version). Alas, imagine my disappointment when it ended up being like Devil May Cry (if you have read my reviews, posts, or other comments you know I'm not a fan of the "Devil May Cry/Onimusha" gameplay formula). I promptly placed it back on my library collection after level 4 and have not touched it since.

Rygar: The Legendary Adventure

I bought the game because of my inability to finish the original. Being an 80's gamer, you do appreciate that those games back then were WAY harder than they are now. Played it to the end, but the final boss was a difficult one. Got tired of it and eventually lost my copy of the game somewhere. It wasn't that great of a game, either.

Blaster Master: Blasting Again

One of the first PS One games I bought, mostly out of nostalgia for the original NES game. I got tired of hearing the girl calling "Roddy!" for every single conversation to alert me of stuff going on. Very similar to the "Hey, listen!" from Na'vi in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That plus crappy controls and level structure. Might not finish it after all...

The Darkness (2007)

Got bored with the WW II part getting extra powers. Maybe I'll pick it up later...I do want to play the sequel and don't want to play it until I finish this one first.

Pikmin 2

I (barely) finished Pikmin and wanted to play this one co-op with my wife. Turns out this is a game mostly for single player and she can't stand seeing and hearing dying pikmin. So it's shelved...but I did buy Pikmin 3 and I'm doing the exact same thing I did with this one. Probably shelving it for a while. Awesome games, but there are easier and quicker games to finish on my list.

Assassin's Creed III

Same as Max Payne 3; bought them at the same time and want to maximize my trophy output in one sitting. I have spent most of my time doing sidequests and such. It's fun, but not AC II fun.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I preordered and bought this game with the Wii launch back in 2007. I did manage to get to the final castle, but by then I was so bored with it (spent over 40 hours doing sidequestes and such) that I left it there. Have not even faced Ganon. Not that he beat me; I haven't even shown up to try beating him. I did the same thing with Wind Waker, but after 2 years I picked it up where I left off and promptly kicked Ganon's butt. So I'm expecting something similar will happen with this one.
