They should actually just have playlists that don't allow aim assist, lightweight, and endurance.  Would make it play much more like a sim and not the sprint, kill, repeat BS that I see so much.

Exactly.  SMGs are mainly there for people who can't aim.

Totally agree. It's not just SMGs, it's just the people who just randomly sprint around and that's all they do. I have been seeing a lot of it recently. If I have to worry about people constantly coming from both sides that really have no tactics or strategy at all the game isn't nearly as fun for me. I honestly think this game would be mpre fun for me if there were no fully automatic weapons.

That probably sounds silly. I mostly have fun with this game, but I usually just leave matches where 4 or more people on the other team are using smgs. I could counter it by straight up camping, but that's no fun either.

Honestly though, I think decreasing movement speed for light weapons would be the best fix.

After playing a several matches tonight I have realized that smgs aren't really the problem for me. It's people just sprinting around constantly. It's so weak to spawn, see an enemy 3 seconds later, aim at them, then get shot in the back while aiming. Or engage an enemy and get shot in the back from someone who has probably been sprinting for the past 20+ seconds. I have no respect for this strategy:

Step 1: Sprint

Step 2: Find enemy in CQC situation, spray, kill

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2.

I have tried it and it's just not fun for me. I could see how it could be fun for people with below average intelligence, though (doesnt require much analytical thinking). How is there any way to defeat enemies coming from both sides without just being a camper? Honestly the only way to beat this is bouncing betties, combined with a lot of sitting and waiting around corners. I hate corner camping so that's out. I could run around and do laps with all the other sprinter idiots, but then it just starts to feel like quake or something.

I'm not a great player, but I have a positive K/D. I'm just at a loss as to how to beat the people who sprint around 90% of the time without setting up my tent.

Also all I have written in this thread pertains to Team Deathmatch.

Edit: just reread this and I don't want anyone to think I'm against flanking people, I'm just againt people using sprint, kill, repeat as their only strategy all match every match.

I love how SMG users complain about camping when the only effective way to counter smgs is to tactically control long sightlines. I never corner camp rooms or anything but I love using a scoped weapon and moving around very little or very slowly to control large parts of the map. How is this any worse than running around aimlessly and succeeding only because you sneak up on someone? I'm not saying smgs should never be used, but people who use them every map have no skill.

To be honest, it annoys me when the entire opposing team is using them most of the time. Especially on large maps. At least smg classes are not as OP as they were in MW3.

Never tried battlefield, maybe I should.

Learn to aim. There is nothing tactical about running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I can see using them on some maps, but when you do it every time it just proves that running around and spray and praying is all that you can do.

Also would like to add that I mainly play TDM and I like playing with the mindstate that the team who dies least wins, not the team that kills most.  Pretty much every time my team loses there are a couple people at the bottom with less than .4 KDR.  The team that wins usually has pretty much everyone close to or above 1.0 KDR.

To me it does.  I prefer ranged encounters and choosing my spots wisely.  I would rather go 15-5 than 25-15.  This is just what is fun for me.

P.S. I am not a camper.  The only time I will sit in one spot ADSing for more than a few seconds if if I know the enemy is about to run up on me.
