I'm sure there are countless other topics like mine that describe their annoyance/disappointment with Gamespots new web-page layout, but regardless, I feel the need to express my opinion because I've been a registered member on this website since May 2005...

Now back in the 2005, I don't remember what GS honestly looked like. But I do remember that Platinum Subscription services were available for paying members, as well as the MUCH missed .01 rating score that they would use for game reviews. All those are gone now, which nobody knew why and are to this day greatly missed. I guess isn't honestly up to the website members to decide whether or not a layout change needs to happen, but we SHOULD be able to voice our opinion on the possibility of a change of layout. It's probably inevitable that website change, after all, you start to see certain imperfections and would like to see certain facets change/revamped. Over the course of time on GS, they've changed layouts every couple of years. Some more annoying than others, but over time made sense after navigating your way around the new layout and getting used to things and noticing why they made those certain changes. They made sense. Not all of them mind you, but most of them.

Now we're in for another GS website change, but this time - it's a f****ing mess. Sorry for the language, but it's necessary to express my frustration with this change. Before this layout, the Gamespot website was nearly perfect. It was easy to navigate, the news sections were nicely categorized, latest reviews were easy to find, the member rating system was easy and accessible and the over-all layout was simple yet intuitive. All of that is gone now... Replaced with a bombastic layout that makes no sense. The review rating system has been changed AGAIN into now a 1.0 increment which takes away even more grading diversity than ever before. The interface is garbage and cluttered, the forum system is now not appealing at all, which is a shame because the Gamespot forums were the BEST part about this website... The forums for this website was great because it was populated, and full of regular users. But now the over-all forum interface has changed for the worse...

I don't honestly care if other people agree with me on this, but Gamespot was almost perfect the way it was... I wish my comment would convince the website designers to change it back to the way it was, but we all know that isn't going to happen.

Please don't misunderstand, I don't want to sound like I'm griping or bitter.

I love this community and thank all of you for the good memories and fun times. But now this is where I say good-bye. It was fun everyone, and I hope to see you all again on another website. Regardless if I can actually deactivate my membership or not, this will be my last post on this website. We've had good times Gamespot, but I no longer wish or want to be a member of this video game website... I'm sorry things had to turn out this way for the people who share my concerns and objections to this new website change. I'll probably still visit this website time and again out of habit, but I won't post any longer and I'll find a better website to be a member of. Farewell Gamespot, I will miss the old days...

Sincerely,

Caleb E. Rees (Digital_DJ_00)

It's ultimately based on taste on opinion... The most appealing exclusive launch title is with out a doubt Killzone: Shadow Fall. The most appealing non exclusive launch title is Battlefield 4. The most appealing launch window game is Infamous Second Son. The game I want the most for the PS4 is Deep Down and The Division.

The game I'll be buying at launch will undoubtedly be Killzone: Shadow Fall.

A price drop even when it's at $400 already? Is this comment for real...? I'll probably be 2 years before it drops, and when it does, it'll only be by $50 - $75. Are you REALLY gonna wait 2 years just for it drop 50 - 75 bucks? If so, your logic and way of thinking needs to be re-evaluated... Oy... I'm leaving this thread before I really come unglued...

[QUOTE="GTR12"]

Game could come out before the console itself.

JCMac120

That wouldn't happen. The embargo for new games is the same as the release date for the new console. Launch games anyway. Who knows for sure if PS4 drops in November or October. I hope it's sooner than later though. Can't wait!

Why? Cuz it's happened before. It's normal for a launch game to come out a few days or even a week before the actual console does. It helps guarentee that launch games will be avaible and on shelves when the new next gen console is available. I remember seeing Resistance: Fall of Man in Wal-Mart almost a week before the PS3 came out.

I'm sure alot of you remember the recent article on Gamespot about pre-orders sold out in the UK territory on Amazon. I also made a comment on the thread regarding how it might happen to U.S. territories as well, a portion of my comment was " If you're interested in pre-ordering a PS4, my advice is to do it as soon as possible, because we'll most likely see this happpening in all of Amazon's website territories very soon".

Well I'm here to inform everyone that my prediction actually just happened today, because all of the pre-order options for the PS4 on Amazon.com are officially sold out until further notice. Now I will note that the "Launch Day Bundle" options actually let you sign up to be notified when it's back in stock for pre-order, which is nice because that gives us the notion that Amazon will eventually have more in the future, however, the same cannot be said for the "Launch Day" PS4 that's just the console.

I found this out today because I was going to pre-order the "Killzone + PS Plus Launch Bundle" today on Amazon, but yesterday (Thursday) it was in stock, but I woke up today to find out that ALL of the options were sold out...

Just thought I'd let everyone know, and as I said this before, expect this to happen to all of Amazons website territories. Hopefully, Amazon will get more units avaiable soon for those who could not pre-order in time.

[QUOTE="Digital_DJ_00"]

[QUOTE="Nengo_Flow"] 16 is the minimum for this game most likely. why the f*ck? I dont mind having a mode thats just 4 vs 4, another thats 8 vs 8, but for the love of god there better be a mode thats 16 vs 16. Or KZ:SF will be a disappointment before it actually hits the shelves. Nengo_Flow

16 or 20 total (8 vs 8 - 10 vs 10) will more than likely be the maximum. What reason would there be to have so many players? Balanced multiplayer, uniquely crafted maps, and fun/engaging/intuitive multiplayer modes come first. Killzone Shadowfall shouldn't have huge gun fights just for the sake of having it. Saying Killzone Shadowfall will fail by default if it doesn't have 16 vs 16 is just plain silly. There IS such a thing as "too many players", MAG is more than proof of that. I'd much rather have a balanced 8 vs 8, unique, and engaging multiplayer experience than having a run off the mill 16 vs 16 shoot out cluster-f**k. MAG max player was much bigger I know, but you get the picture.

So KZ2 was crap? The reason people loved KZ2's multiplayer was becuz of how well it played with 32 on huge maps and bots causing chaos. People love the chaos! Thats why people were disappointed with KZ3.

And KZ2 workd great, it was balance. The only issues it had was the spawn grandes that people would use (i did all the time) to spawn trap the other enemies in their base. (But even that was fun, you would get a ton of kills if you were the team doing the trapping or the team being trapped. KZ2's multiplayer was fun. KZ3 was a tone down version of it which wasnt as good.

Plus! Its NEXTEGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! KZ:SF has to be that nexgen game to bring that next gen experience. If the multiplayer looks like something that could be done on a PS3, has been done on the PS3, or the PS3 has games that have done better multiplayer experiences, then KZ:SF will be consider a disappointment.

Im not specifically saying that 8v8 will automatically mean that it wont be good, but it will be looked at as if its not doing anything special (even if it turns out good).

I never said Killzone 2 was crap, I just said that balance, good maps, and intuitive/fun game modes for multiplayer take priority. If "chaotic" is the term you'd use, then it's definately not balanced, because chaos is the exact opposite of balance. The only way I could see a 16 vs 16 or 32 vs 32 working is if the maps for those matches are REALLY big, other wise it'd be a cluster f**k. No thanks to that, if I wanna play a cluster f**k I'll play ground war on CoD on Nuketown.

On of the big reasons why KZ2 fans didnt like KZ3's multiplayer was becuz of the lack of server list and the 12 vs 12 from 16 vs 16 downgrade (even tho they added jet packs and Mechs)Nengo_Flow

[QUOTE="kingoflife9"]

the crappy launch games make me want to cancel my ps4 pre order, seriously.

mitu123

As opposed to Xbox One's launch games? I hope not, because Halo 5 won't be launch, neither will be Titan Fall, which totally jacked The Division for Best Game of E3 this year. That leaves Forza 5, everything else is multi-platform that will release on the PS4 as well.

Ryse and Killer Instinct won't be multiplat and seeing how Microsoft published Dead Rising 3 it would be tough to make that multiplat as well.

I'm aware thatDead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct will be Xbox One exclusive, they're just not "must have" launch titles, they're not even appealing. Killer Instinct Gold was awesome, but the new KI looks like it just copied the fighting mechanics from Street Fighter 4 and remodeled the characters in HD. But to be fair, the PS4 doesn't have a single exclusive fighting game yet, probably won't until Tekken 7 or whatever it'll be called.
