2011 Top 10 Spookiest Villain Blog Activity

Not really a top 10, but rather the 10 most horrific beings I've encounter in all my gamer years.

Warning, there are Spoilers ahead for some games

1 - Nemesis from Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Nemesis is characterized by its relentlessness, strength, sheer stamina, and comparatively high intellect. Unlike the various Tyrant models before him, Nemesis shows it's capable of employing weaponry and firearms to achieve his objectives. He is also shown to have rational thinking abilities, as when he shot down a potential rescue helicopter and can even speak to some extent.

2 - Twin Victims from Silent Hill 4: The Room

The Twin Victims (also known as Doublehead) are a dangerous enemy from Silent Hill 4: The Room. The creature looks like a giant bust walking on a pair of rotted arms; the twins' bodies have been fused together, giving the bust two heads, which resemble the faces of a pair of sleeping infants wearing a tattered, dirty smock and what looks like a scarf.

3 - ReDead from The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker

ReDeads are teal-skinned, voodoo-esque zombie creatures with recessed eyes and elongated, hoop-bearing earlobes. Like their predecessors, they scream and paralyze Link on sight. Unlike previous generations, however, their shriek is louder and more dramatic. When they catch sight of Link, their jaws and arms stretch downward while their eyes bulge and turn red, creating a terrifying visage. ReDeads will bring fallen ReDeads back to life if they are lured toward one of them.

4 - Infector from Dead Space

Apparently created from human torsos and arms, its wings are formed by a flap of skin flayed away from the flanks and chest and then fused between the former host's twisted arms. The head appears to either be missing or consumed, and the pelvis is the new "head" of the creature, with the spine providing support and attachment points for articulation (movement). All non-essential musculature, fat, and organs have been removed, owing to its bony appearance along the back. This biomass is likely used to produce the infectious agent the creature administers with its proboscis. This limb, made from mutated bone, muscle, and spinal tissue is the delivery mechanism used to infect potential hosts. This is done by enveloping the host in its wings, extending the proboscis from the spinal cavity, and then stabbing it into the skull to inject a yellow fluid stored in an internal bladder. In any room with the remains of crew members, these are the beasts that should be taken down quickly before you get overrun with newly created Necromorphs.

5 - Alma Wade from F.E.A.R.

Alma is capable of linking her mind with Paxton Fettel during the so called "synchronicity events", where she is able to use him as a means to take her revenge. Among Alma's other powers, she is able to kill people with a psychic attack that literally liquefies all their flesh, leaving behind only a charred, blood-drenched skeleton. She can also create a number of different hallucinations and can take the Point Man into her dream world where she is even able to summon malevolent phantoms. Alma also seems to display other powers associated with the mind. It is assumed she can perform pyrokinesis. It can also be inferred that she has some level of telekinesis, as random objects move with her approach, or even in her absence.

6 - The Ultimate Being from Parasite Eve

The Ultimate Being grew inside the stomach of the second Eve until she was defeated by Aya near the Statue of Liberty. It was created by Eve with sperm created by Dr. Hans Klamp. This sperm has no paternal mitochondria, so it cannot interfere with Eve's mitochondria when the Ultimate Being was created.

7 - Glutton from Dante's Inferno

Gluttons are enemies first encountered in the Third Circle, in the Hall of Gluttons. They are the souls that have been transformed into living embodiments of their sin, always eating anything they come across.Gluttons attack by either vomiting on their foes or expelling fecal matter from their rear ends.

8 - Cerberus from Dante's Inferno

When Dante sees Cerberus, he appears as a three-headed worm escaping from a large humanoid maw in the ground and having numerous other worms sticking out of each of its heads. The three heads also constantly fight over their meals and in some cases will vomit out anything that is consumed, even using these as projectiles against his prey. Despite having front legs, the demon is completely immobile due to being stuck in the ground from the mid section up.

9 - Cutter from Dead Nation

The Cutter is the most dangerous Special Infected. His blade like hands can rip a man in half with just two hits. Even weapons like the Blade Cannon cannot take down this beast easily.

10 - Regenerador from Resident Evil 4

A Regenerador is a monster created by inhumane experiments utilizing the Las Plagas and human test subjects. Regeneradors are named for their artificially created high metabolism. If a Regenerador is injured, small tentacles sprout from the wound and appear to 'knit' new flesh, recreating entire limbs within seconds. This allows the Regenerador to recover from bullet wounds, lost limbs, decapitation, loss of lower body or even loss of the entire upper torso with little loss of overall health. The Regenerador appears as a large vaguely man-shaped creature covered in hairless, seemingly rough gray skin. Their mouths are large, taking up most of their otherwise featureless faces and are filled with needle-like teeth which force the Regenerador into a grin. Although they are usually slow, walking with a distinctive, unnerving, palsied gait, Regeneradors are capable of frightening bursts of speed when attacking, viciously slashing and biting, and stretching their arms to unnatural lengths to grab their prey. Regeneradors are inhumanly flexible as they can be knocked back into impossible positions that would snap the spine of any human, bringing themselves up with ease, suggesting the absence of a conventional skeletal system. They can also stretch limbs to extreme length in order to grab their prey and when their legs are blown away they can move forward very quickly by slamming themselves toward the ground causing them to jump forward. This is all possible due to their bodies almost completely, if not entirely, consisting of pure muscle manipulated by the leech-like Plagas hiding in its body. The presence of a Regenerador nearby can be instantly detected by the sound of their erratic and strained breathing. Their accompanying musical theme when they spot the player only adds to their frightening demeanor.
