i went and bought new copies of final fantasy anthology and IX (greatest hits versions), and they are not playing in my ps2. i also bought FFVIII which works. i noticed anthology and IX discs werent black like the original PSX games are supposed to be while VIII is. Does anybody know what the deal is? if it helps the discs are supposed to be USA copies and i bought them brand new from amazon.com so i need help asap if ima need to return them

i jumped into the x series at x4 and x5 which may have something to do with it not being in my tops...i didnt own a super nintendo just the NES and PS at the time oh and my friend had a SEGA

I see alot on original and X series but am i the only one that loved Legends? then it would be Zero/ZX. post ur favorite here because im bored and sure someone will tell me there are thousands of these and blah blah blah so on and so forth IDC im not willing to search through millions of boards to find it

im not trying to get into system wars im just confused that people would take the time to start something this pointless, its not the system that makes the game but the developers, people should fight if someone were to take over square-enix, which is highly unlikely, then ppl should fight over which GAMES were better

I'll try to answer some of the questions. Sony has some ties to the FF series, having 7-10 and 12 exclusively on Sony consoles, though FF was originally on Nintendo systems before so claiming a definite company for Square to be loyal to is not really possible. The reason I believe many PS3 owners were upset with FFXIII being on the 360 was that they believed it would drag down the quality of the game due to restraints of the 360(like how it uses Dual-Layer DVDs instead of Blu-Rays which have a far larger amount of storage on them) and that it would delay production of the game.

My opinion is that it doesn't really matter. There are plenty of great multi-platform games and plenty of great exclusive games. The whole fanboy system loyalty thing is pretty dumb, if they really care about gaming they would want everyone to be able to play good games. Though exclusives and competition drive sales so exclusive deals are not gonna go away and thus the same applies to fanboys.

thank you someone that agrees that console fan base is pointless. i also think that ppl worry to much about graphical quality, which is nice but not as important as story and gameplay mechanics

but sony has its own game industry, and so does microsoft, as well as nintendo, but square enix hasnt been bought out by a spesific console so why would fans get angry, they still get their game and its been expanded to new audiences which makes more ppl buy it

oh so this is a quality of game thing rather than fans who played the originals on sony playstation feeling a connection... then again if i saw mario on 360 id be a little flustered but not up in arms like some of these forums i have seen

being the kind of gamer i am i play on sony, microsoft, nintendo consoles. i see alot of controversy over final fantasy on the 360 and how it shouldnt be there, but what says that final fantasy should be a sony console exclusive, what ties does sony have with square enix? i dont see that much controversy over the final fantasy crystal chronicles series being on nintendo consoles. and on this note why do ppl fight over which console is better wouldnt it be the came companies that matter not what you are playing on. i dont see ppl fighting over what kind of computer to use like dell vs toshiba or cell phone wars, samsung vs LG. im just confused and hope somebody can help me with this seemingly pointless argument i see in every final fantasy forum
