Hey everyone,

I just wanted to pass along a deal I snagged up today. The Monster Hunter 3 Bundle with the Wii Pro Classic Controller is on sale at gamestop for $55. Gamestop is also offering free overnight shipping on all preorders through tomorrow (2/5/10) at NOON EST. If you're looking to snag Monster Hunter at a discount and want overnight shipping for free, today's the day to do it.

Of course if you don't want the bundle, you can do the same without the controller and it'll run you $45 as the non bundled game is $5 off too.

Just thought I'd help a few friends out.

Wow, Rock n Roll Racing. I absolutely loved that game and agree, it belongs on there. It was a sequel to RPM Racing, a respectable title for its time and very good. I remember renting RPM racing many times before Rock n Roll racing came out. Rock n Roll Racing trumped it's older sibling in every way. Excellent selection.

Speaking of racing games, how about Stunt Race FX? They used the FX chip in such a creative way to try to simulate 3d graphics. It was a lot of fun and also, underrated.

I always wanted to play Zombies Ate my Neighbors.

I always liked Pilotwings. That gets SOME fanfare, but not as much.

Here's a question.

We all know that games like Earthbound, Super Mario Kart (not 64), etc. have been clamored about by people to be released. What I want to know is what games do you want to be released that are NOT regularly discussed that are underrated by most gamers and need to be brought to light?

I have many, but to kick start the convo, I will start by saying Faxanadu for the NES. It was a great zelda-ish game that engrossed players into a unique fantasy world (at the time) and had awesome RPG elements like leveling up infused in it. One of my favorite moments of the game was that you could actually see the armor and weapons that you bought being worn by your player! I know that's more common these days, but back then you could buy 20 different weapons and armor, but your weapon never changed.

Let me clarify my statement a bit. I am aware that technically SoM is the 2nd with the first being Final Fantasy Adventure (later being redone as Sword of Mana). I was referring to the 'Of Mana' games out there as well. I have heard that 3 is the best out there and I wish that I could play it. Who knows, maybe someday Square will translate and release it on the Wii or DS.

It's a shame that they don't make the Secret of Mana games like they used to anymore. Talk about a completely destroyed franchise. If they would have given that franchise the same TLC as Final Fantasy, Square would have made tons of money. Instead, they butchered it.

Again, sorry for the confusion. I should have clarified my statement earlier.

I assure you, it is there. Just downloaded it. Probably wait til after work to play it.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. It's a shame that most of the sequels don't do this game justice. I only wish they released the other 2 here in the states instead of keeping it in Japan. I heard the 3rd is a real classic. After that, they really bottomed out.

I was a tad worried at first that they'd pull a Chrono Trigger and slap a $40 tag on this...but fortunately that is not the case.

Now let's bring on Earthbound :)

Fitzokoli,

I respect your opinion and I can see your point about Brawl. But lets be fair about Brawl...while it was an awesome game, how much effort really had to go into the game? They already had the formula from the previous Smash...they just had to tweak it, make some new backgrounds and re release it. The online mode is still broken and I still hear people complaining about it.

I'm not sure when you got a Wii. I got one at launch and the only game I have seen which I felt paid some homage to the hardcore was galaxy. I can also give you Brawl...but 2 games compared to the 300 that are out there that are more for the casual market sends chills to the hardcore audience. Granted, the remaining 298 are mostly from 3rd parties, but Nintendo is responsible for setting a trend and they are doing nothing to encourage more 'hardcore' games to get on the Wii.

I don't know if people also notice that Nintendo has gotten worse with giving their franchises to other developers and there is a trend starting there. As a matter of fact, I think the only true in house game that was created by Nintendo was Super Mario Galaxy.

If you still don't agree with me that's fine...but I haven't even brought up the Virtual Console. Are there some great games on there? Absolutely. But Nintendo is really being slow with releasing what they know to be the absolute classics. It's a business move and makes sense...I mean you need to sell the bad games with the good to make money. They aren't doing it for the fans though Fitzokoli. They are doing it to maximize profit.

fitzokoli,

I'm not spelling impending doom...I'm merely saying Nintendo goes where the money is. I'm not getting super hyper about it...just expressing my disappointment. I do think you are giving Nintendo a bit too much credit. I owned and played Brawl, and it was a lot of fun, but it was also watered down and the skill level wasn't as necessary.

Bottom line is that Nintendo is overplaying the casual hand. Can I blame them? Logic says no...but my heart wants to say yes. Shouldn't someone who is in the business to make money try to make more money? yes. But as the loyal customer you also want a bone thrown to you now and then.

Really, ask the starmen.net people if you don't take my word for it.
