@El_Zo1212o: I think they're all artists, some much more proficient than others. Even Molyneux, yes he may be somewhat of a liar but listening to the man speak and the romantistry and feeling he uses you can definitely tell he operates under artistic principles.

Artists have a particular way of speaking, its not easy at first but after a while you can identify it.

@El_Zo1212o: Not all art is timeless, nor does it have to be. It may so be that it is enjoyed only in a particular region of time, there is a great quote on this.

"Some artists leave remarkable thing which, a hundred years later, don’t work at all. I have left my mark; my work is hung in museums, but maybe one day the Tate Gallery or the other museums will banish me to the cellar... you never know." - Francis Bacon

Who btw is a brilliant and hugely respected artist, chech out his works if you haven't already.

@El_Zo1212o: Don't really see how what I said is fake or egotistical in any way... I'm just quite passionate about art, you're probably just weirded out by my heavy assosciation between art and video games.

This is why I hate 'business' and why I wish it would keep its greedy hands off of my art. DLC is the second worst thing in gaming after lag. It seems to be getting worse, I remember back playing my original xbox online and for a lot of games dlc would only take a couple of months until it was free, now things stay full price years later, season passes, day one DLC gahd!...

But enough of this negativity! For I think there will always be artists in the gaming industry, Kitase's, Lavine's, Kojima's etc. That will make the game they WANT to make, so quality should always remain as the mind of a true artist exists purely external to the regimes of business.

@Rizer: Nah we have a pretty poor range of PSone classics on PSN over here in AUS and the Legend of Dragoon isn't offered here. But I've heard its relatively easy to make a fake american account and get access to much more, so I will probably just do that. From the way people talk about tLoD it must be pretty amazing even with the nostalgia factor, so I'm definitely keen - I'll probably end up getting other classics from PSN too like 'Xenogears'.

@Lhomity: Thanks for the advice, I'm sort of a collector in that I like to own an array of the best games each of the consoles I have has to offer and I'm especially attracted to The Legend of Dragoon given that its a JRPG (a genre which introduced me to gaming) and from an era where the genre was arguably in its prime. But the collection I have is very much still in its infancy only about 10 titles for the PS1, 20 or so for the original Xbox and 40ish for X360.

I'm not interested in amassing giant hordes of every game I can get or owning games simply because they're rare and may have high monetary value. But my gut is telling me I should heed your wisdom and not get myself too into collecting haha, I've only recently started researching into 'gems' from previous generations. I think that's a sign its starting... I should get out while I still can! :P

Hey guys,

I know a guy selling the PS1 classic "The Legend of Dragoon", he has $100 on it (decent price for a PAL copy, I live in AUS so there is no point getting a much cheaper NTSC copy). I've never played it but I loved the Final Fantasy games on the PS1, should I get it? WIll I be able to get into it not having played it back in its hey day? Should I just make a fake american account and get it off PSN for $10 instead? Having a physical copy is so much nicer though!

Advice?

Thanks!
