Although I haven't gotten that far (I was busy trying to get a perfect nature starter); story wise, your just missing some refferences. I think they keep in mind young kids play the game and that they don't want to make it to deep without explanation. Your a different character with your own story. Cheren tells you what he did in Black/White so they do a good job of re-explaining themselves. I think to go of a job. I'm tired of this game constantly reminding me that the pokedex records information every time it is mentioned... "Yes I know exactly what it does. Just give it to me already and stop explaining it I've played since Red version." :P

I got him before the first gym. I think you just need to have your starter pokemon first.

He wont listen till you get the first badge and thats only up to level 20. Obtained on level 15.

I have Black 1 and White 1, and I just picked up Black 2 today (and will probably get White 2 down the road). I started Black with Tepig and White with Snivy. I definitely want to start one of the 2s with Oshawott. I'm not sure which on I will start with him and who I should start the other game with. Should I save Oshawott for White 2 and chose from the other two starters now or do the reverse Any advice?

I would rather trade a starter for something better. What starter did you choose?

I have all the tradistional pokemon games out (from R/B/Y & ***. Green to Black and White; one of my ruby games has every single pokemon, except Mew), a 3DS and a regualr DS so I can do all the trading I essentually want alone, But I think it would be more fun to make friends and share the load with others.
