Ok the new forums are ready so feel free to sign up and post if you want to

http://www.dafap.com.au/

If you have any thoughts, suggestions, ideas about the format, colour scheme... anything really, just post it in the feedback thread and I'll, more than likely, get it changed or added.

No real "rules" other than try to keep threads in appropriate sections or add new ones if necessary.

See you there... I hope :)

DAFAP is the new old Gamespot :)
DAFAP is the new old Gamespot :)

I'll message @tag-six on PSN and AusBlackMateria (if that's the right username he went by) and maybe if one of you guys who can contact Serial Killer and see if he wants to join up as well?

Man, so much getting me shitty about Australia today. The South Australian government has some MAJOR vendetta against games. Good luck if you live there.

If you go to the site linked in that image, it seems a bit more sensible, having the other half of the slogan: "look out for online games that simulate gambling". The poster on its own without additional context implies a lot more though.

True, I didn't actually read the article, but still - it doesn't help SA's case for gaming.

It is a double standard. Especially when you look at how many shark attacks there have been internationally this year - **** all! Especially when you compare it to things like, oh, I don't know, car crashes?

Add the fact that the Liberal government just approved mining near the Great Barrier Reef and basically our oceans are fucked. http://www.smh.com.au/environment/conservation/government-approves-massive-resource-projects-on-great-barrier-reef-coast-20131210-2z3z2.html

Think that the US government will take me as a refugee?

I think Knack or Killzone will be a PSPlus game soon. I also think that the Tomb Raider HHD upgrade will be the PSPlus game for January/February.

**** the West Australian government. The approval to kill 'large sharks' near certain beaches is insane and a kneejerk reaction to something that is not even a problem. Fucking nuts.

@Chamboosy@36Chambers93 - My dogs are both over 12 now. Asshole vet told me I had "senior dogs". They only joined our family recently and are still puppies in my mind dammit. Don't give me this "old dog" shit.

Anyway I got suckered in with the 6 monthly check. The sucky thing is that, when you're told your dog is old and that could catch anything early... well it's emotional string pulling right? Unless you're one of these assholes who prefers to put down their pet rather than spend $100 on repairs and maintenance you're always gonna go for whatever you think is best for the dog... to an extent. I've met two types of people over the past few years whos treatment of their pets doesn't meet with my approval... in all cases no fucks are given so I don't even mention it. Anyway...

1. People who have little to no emtotional attachment to their pet. They usually have one that seemed like a good idea when it was a puppy and the poor fucker lies around the house by itself all day waiting for them to get home and not walk or play with them. These people are the ones my vet friends hate as they usually opt for the "put the dog to sleep" option as soon as they become expensive.

2. People who confuse what's best for the dog with what's best for them. There was a guy at work who loved his dogs to bits however the dogs got some bad cancer leaving their faces alls crewed up. Dogs couldn't see and, by the end, could barely walk so they had to whimper and he'd carry the dogs outside to go dookie. I know he loved his dogs and didn't want to let them go but I found it really disgusting. The poor thing was in misery. I hope if I'm ever like that someone opts to have me humanely put down.

Oh yeah. We have a guy at work who races greyhounds too. I hate that as well. He doesn't even house the things. Keeps them at a kennel where they are cages stacked on top of each other and gets them out for training/races.

@mystic_knight: I vote Chickan should replicate the old GS website on his domain and we can just post on there and ditch this crap.

Actually I did create a whole forum website using the DAFAP website but then decided not to post it here as I had faith we'd end up with our forums back. Seems like, if I made it live now, we may have missed the boat! Not enough members visiting here now to make it worthwhile.@

Yep. I have a few clients just like that. Needless to say, I have rehomed a few animals who fit into the first area under the guise that they've been euthanised. I can't stand people like that. I had a go at a guy once because he wanted to get his sons labrador put down because the dog kept shitting in the yard and his son wouldn't remember to clean up after the dog. I said, well, that's an extreme thing to do. How old is your son? He said, six years old. I thought, no wonder the kid doesn't remember to clean up after the dog, he's six! He can't even remember every time he needs to go to the toilet. Rehomed that dog with a family who loved it. Couldn't rehome the kid sadly.

I also see case two quite often. A nurse I used to work with did exactly that - her dog had cancer in its chest, inoperable. She wouldn't do chemo. She kept it on fluids daily and tried all sorts of homeopathic medications to help it out. The dog went a whole week of coughing up blood before it ended up dying at home. Needless to say, she was fired not so long after that (not because she wouldn't euthanise her dog - for an unrelated problem). I couldn't have someone who wouldn't accept when their animal was ready to die working for a place where she needed to care for other peoples animals who needed to be euthanised. She was a vegan as well. Fucking hell. Don't get me started on that bullshit.

I think that another forum could work well. I used to love coming here to retain my spamboosy name but now I come here and the right threads aren't worthwhile reading at all. I forget there's a front of the site as well. I like the community we had, but now it's gone.

@Chamboosy some vet advice please. Its an easy one and I dont think you need to be charging me for your services yet :P

In regards to health check ups for my dog. I got a reminder that he is due for one but he had one in July this year. I suspect now that he is at the age of 6 month check ups rather than 12 months. Thing is he is 7 years old and I assumed 8 plus is considered senior dog age. Again I just suspect the vet is trying to sting me again for more money, that is my biggest concern.

I hate knowing he is becoming a senior dog though, really cuts me up he is getting old. Want him to live forever with me.

They probably just want to see him again because of his dental work from earlier in the year, but I'd stick with a once a year check up. Unless you find anything abnormal, once a year is enough. The once a year check up will vaccinate and make sure he's aok. The six month is money out of your pocket for no reason.

This vet was the one who wanted to charge me thousands for the dental work and I took him elsewhere. Its exactly why I asked you and got the answer I was suspecting from you. I'll just stick to 12 months and Im really annoyed that they keep attempting to stitch me up, ill take my dog to the other vet 100% now. Thanks for your advice.

No worries. By the sounds of it it'd be cheaper for you to fly him across here, me do a yearly service on him, and send him back. But yeah, it's easy to see when Vet's are struggling for money at places because they throw these 'six month check up's' and 'dental months' and then, now your dog is getting older, they'll throw 'senior dog check' at you as well.
