I havent felt the need to watch game of thrones or gilmore girls. I guess that makes me not most people. Enjoying mafia 3 so far though. I like the gameplay so far. Also 6 hours in. Hoping for more but that's the sign of a good game.

@luis2113: Actually I want a console to play games. The xbox one s is the weakest of the consoles to do that. They went cheap on processor, graphics card and memory all to add a 4k drive. I don't want a 4k drive. I want a game console. You are the guy at the movie theater who buys a large because it's the "best deal". It's also the most expensive and the most crap.

I buy all my stuff digital. Why do I need a 4k drive at the sacrifice or lesser memory and processor speed. These new consoles are not needed either.

@TheZeroPercent: Honestly I think these reviews are so subjective and people just follow the masses. I'd rather play this than Overwatch which got a 9 here. If running around shooting people in the face isn't repetitive and is groundbreaking i don't know what to tell you. Something missing with developers in general these days. I think this game is a 7 because it could be better but i don't want skyrim in space either. I appreciate they did something different. It still does get repetitive though and something missing. A lot of these games have become all the same and a huge clusterf as far as gameplay though. Arkham Knight got a 7 too because of the batmobile. Honestly No Man's Sky, Batman and the Witcher are the games I enjoyed the most this gen and The Witcher isn't even deserving of a 10. AC Syndicate a 9 yeah right.

Honestly

The Witcher is probably an 8 or 9.

Uncharted 4 was fun for the playthrough but a lot of the same. That's an 8 as well

This game deserves a 7 or 8

AC Syndicate 7

AC Unity 5

Arkham Knight 7 or 8

Battleborn a 6

Overwatch 7

Watchdogs 6 or 7

Even GTA is not a 10. There are so many things wrong with that game as far as activities and boredom it's ridiculous.

This game is as good as those games. It's more just taste. I like how this game transitions and isn't a huge clusterf. It could have more personality though and ways to play like a space pirate etc if you so choose etc.

I think this is fair and I'll probably enjoy it more for that reason. I think the scope of this game and style deserves a lot of credit though. It's something new and you can do so much in this game you can't in others. Now if gamespot would just start reviewing other games this way. I think this is unfairly reviewed for that reason. So was Arkham knight. They probably are 7 games but so are so many others that get higher scores and overhyped.

Funny thing is when a game is reviewed properly i'm more positive about it in the comments vs a game that got a 10 and didn't deserve that. Not a coincidence.

Still people are followers that way. I don't see where this game is any less deserving than games that people jump on the bandwagon and give 9's and 10's too. It's just people are bandwagon jumping and giving this a 7 this time. Most of these games are good but not great. 10 should be reserved for games that are truly great in all facets.

If the universe is infinite doesn't that make any point the center of the universe? Isn't that what this game is and the algorithm where it just creates planets endlessly or are there a quintillion which basically means the universe is finite because that's all the ps4 could handle.

I wonder if it's possible to reach the end of the universe in this game and what happens? Can this game be completely broken? Do you see God? lol.

I like Turtles. For some reason I think the turtle boy in all of us will like this game. The people who expect more probably won't. Companies still preying on peoples innocence and time though either way. Bad people. If us Americans are too whiny at this point sell it to the chinese and destroy their wonderful culture. I know how these companies operate.

@deviltaz35: Syndicate is not bad. Do you know what I mean though? I wish these games were more organic in ways. I haven't bought this game yet but I've played enough games to know what a game is in a lot of ways before i buy it. A lot of games are missing that extra something that makes them truly great. Even Syndicate is very cookie cutter if you've played it and understand what the design and code is. I feel like this game while i like it is doing something different the actual design will become very cookie cutter after a while. Destiny had the same issues. Those are just examples. I feel the same way about other genres. They do what they set out to do but lack that extra something. I'm more pleased this game actually tried to create something new but even still. Even games like Uncharted while well made games are the same thing after a while. They do what they set out to do but aren't really doing anything that different. Even adventuer games. Developers are more concerned with putting out the same genres and better graphics than doing something new. Older games like Ultima may not have had the graphics at the time but it stretched boundaries as far as what it was and had that soul and extra something at the time.

Syndicate to me is not deserving of more than a 7 though imo. It got a 9 here. I enjoyed the witcher 3 and batman arkham knight so far this gen but even those games could have pushed things a bit more. Those are 2 of the better games this gen imo though. It's still taking an established franchise though. LA Noire to me had the same issues last gen. It took the adventure Noire detective genre and tried to make it an open world game but fell short in a lot of ways. These are games I play though. I havent come across a game in a while where i really felt like they went that extra mile though. Graphically yes. I like that this game is doing something different and pushing boundaries as far as scope and not resting on the same mechanics of other games, but it still feels somewhat hollow.

I guess it is a matter of games as art vs games as a toy in ways but not really. I like mainstream games and am not big on the indie artsy games out there. There is something about the design of these games where they aren't pushing boundaries enough.

@kidcitrus: I might still buy it. I like the sereneness of it and overall mechanics and scope. But I do feel like it's missing something. I like that it's doing something different too. I go between serene to being how i really feel about this game. I'm older though. It takes more to impress me. Still just having fun though. I do think this game could be so much better.

Weird thing is I don't want Star Citizen here or Skyrim in space. I like the quirkyness of this game. I wish there was more to it though. Games that overcomplicate themselves and take themselves too seriously and first person shooters in general are a turn off to me. This game could do really well in my mind with more humor and just quirkyness and creativity and less repetition.
