Hi guys.

Skyrim used to work just fine, but now when I hit "play" on the launcher, the screen goes black and my computer freezes. If I hit ctrl+alt+del right after clicking "play," I can alt+tab back to my desktop and see that an error message has popped up saying "Failed to initialize renderer."

There is no additional information in the error, such as "resolution not supported." Running in windowed mode also doesn't change anything.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with a HD 5970. Just downloaded the latest version of Catalyst and the problem persists. I haven't tweaked the game at all beyond installing a few graphical mods from the Steam Workshop, which used to work, and now even when I disable all mods, it's still not launching.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Definitely. KOTOR series and Deathrow. Pity that Deathrow didn't get the hype it deserved.

Sorry, I think I was a bit unclear. What I have is two separate consoles now, the 2005 with a 20GB HDD, and a brand new one with a 250GB HDD. I was wondering if it's possible to move the data over a LAN between them both, or something similar.

Cheers

My old Xbox's DVD drive can't read anything I put in, no matter what I do. It's a 2005 one, this is the second time it's screwed up, so I just bought a new one. Now, without me giving anymore money Microsoft, which they don't deserve, is there a way to get all my old files onto the new HDD just using plain ethernet cables/computers?

Help would be much appreciated.

Sam

If you only see someone maybe once a week around campus, or in class, do you reckon it's better to message them on facebook, or just wait til you bump into each other and ask them out then?

I know eBay is great for buying games cheaply and also finding rarities, but would it be safe to buy computer hardware, especially video cards, from eBay?

So can anyone recommend a good mech combat game for PC? I know there haven't been many lately...but anyway, in your opinion, what's the best mech game around today?

I can't be bothered to read the whole thing, so sorry if it's been mentioned before...

The theory a lot of scientists are going with now is called string theory. I don't personally understand it, because I'm not a freakin' quantum physicist, but it seems to have the Big Bang (and everything else) pretty well covered. Then again, by accounting for the Big Bang they also open up questions of what caused the stuff that caused the Big Bang...so...yeah, kinda going around in circles. Anyway, I'm down with science and evolution, because it makes a lot of sense. I mean believing that some omnipotent being created everything because the church said so is harder to do than believing crippled men in wheelchairs who actually have the proof to back up what they say.
