Don't you still have your PS2 and a library of PS2 games? Why does this upset you?

Yes, but I'm still a consumer and it's a shitty direction to take regardless..

I have a tough time understanding this stance that an optional purchase is terrible for the consumer. This seems to reek of self centeredness that because you don't like something you are in favor of it not existing and denying thousands of others the opportunity to enjoy it.

Sony does not own all licensing in these games and you can bet when working up new contracts to release these games on the PS Store that the respective owners are going to want there cut of the sales. You can say that $15 is to much it should only be $5 or even less, but unless Sony comes out and list all the cost of putting these games onto the store you have no clue what it is costing them to do so.

If you run a business you will not go very far if you are selling something for $5 that cost you more than $5 to put out.

These games should cost about the same as mobile games, about $3-$5.

Who the hell is going to pay anything more for 15 year old games

People paid normal retail price for VHS re-releases on DVD and the same for DVD re-releases on Blu Ray and I am only speculating, but I'm sure the amount of money to transfer that data to a new format dwarfs in comparison to the additions they have added on these PS2 re-releases.

Look on Ebay at the price for some of these games. It is not uncommon for Dark Cloud to sell around $10 used and Rogue Galaxy and Parappa the Rapper 2 get up around the $20 mark so people are paying that much for these games used already

I don't really understand the backlash.

If this doesn't interest you it doesn't interest you and no one is forcing you to spend money on these games. There are people out there that still enjoy these games and would like to replay them or people that are now playing on PS4 that were not even alive during the PS2 generation and can experience these older games for the first time.

If you already own these games then plug up an old console and play them for no additional cost or go around hunting a used ps2 and games you want to play.

I just never understood gamers self centered attitude of "I have no interest in X so it shouldn't exist".

Gamers should shut the **** up, it's there product they could make cost $1000 if they wanted to. Don't like it? Don't buy it simple as that. The game doesn't interest me, but lets say it did, I simply wouldn't buy it.

Exactly. Look at other industries. Restaurant A sells a Burger meal for $8 that include fries. Restaurant B sells $8 burger, but charges $1 extra for fries added. Restaurant B isn't wrong for doing this or trying to "rip off their customers" it is their choice to charge more for fries. At the end of the day Restaurant B will probably still have very satisfied customers because their customers will feel the value of the product of Restaurant B is better despite the higher cost for the product.

hmmm and yet developers are choosing the 3ds more, and more 3ds's have been sold.

and I can probably bet the 3ds has sold more games to boot.

If that is true then why does Vita have more games that have been released for the system than the 3DS? The 3DS also had a 1 year head start on the Vita. I know this isn't official, but according to the Wiki List for both games libraries the Vita is now over 550 while the 3DS is a little over 500.

PS2 games are SD, so making them HD and re-releasing them is fine. PS3 games are already HD, so re-releasing them is milking consumers.

So what about the customers that didn't own a PS3 and now own a PS4, which is clearly the target audience for this type of game? Are these the people that are getting milked?

The biggest threat to Nintendo is the lack of software releases - so far.

Lack of software releases will continue to grow as companies move from supporting PS3/360 to PS4/Xbone. The Wii U will start missing out on some of the best games of this upcoming generation because its hardware is in between generations. The Wii atleast had sale numbers behind it while Wii U sales are bad and the PS4 and Xbone sales will probably surpass lifetime Wii U sometime next year.

I have about a dozen retail games and another 12-15 downloadable games.

Vita is starting to get even more usage from me because of Remote Play with PS4

The PS4 wobble reminds me of that old joke.

Guy goes to the doctor and tells his doctor: "it hurts every time I touch myself here." The doctor replies: "Well then stop touching yourself there"

If you don't want the PS4 to wobble then don't push down on it. The system is motionless when you don't touch it.
