Sorry I don't have a book to reccomend since I didn't take abstract algebra. I lean more towards science and math isn't really my focus although I did take a couple math classes here and there where I learned proof techniques and encountered some interesting problems like that chessboard problem. May I ask why are you taking abstract algebra? Maybe someone who is closer to your major would able to help. I decided to go for a math degree in addition to my physics degree since it already puts me only a few courses away from getting it, and right now I'm on the pure math plan. I was thinking of going for the computational math plan but I wanted to see how I fared in more proof-based classes.[QUOTE="Blood-Scribe"]PW, have you taken an abstract algebra course yet? I'm taking one in the fall and I'd like to get a head start, so book recommendations for the summer would be nice.PWSteal_Ldpinch
if it is divisible by two then of course it can be covered by a series of "1 by 2" grids.
