Actually that wind attack for Shunsui isn't a wind attack. For example, you release a projectile that's flaming and I get hit but no flaming damage effect. However, it has a special effect. Like Poison, disable of movement, etc. etc.In Shunsui's case, a game.
As for Isshin, he's different case because it doesn't make sense for him to have flaming but a regular projectile with no flames. It even shown in the anime that the getsu tensho didn't have flaming properties.

Still confused on how isshin has a getsuga tensho while having a flame zanpakuto.
There is something I don't get about isshin's powers. We have seen him do a getsuga tensho (something like that) the same with ichigo, but then we have seen him having a flaming zanpakuto in its shinkai mode. How are these two related? Kinda reminds me the case of Shunsui where he used wind attacks but it turned out his zanpakuto was something totally different...any ideas?
I just read the new chapter. It explains quite a lot. I guess isshin broke from that shell in order to gain his shinigami powers...but didn't urahara say that he wouldn't be able to ever do that?

Yeah but they're practically reforging Zabimaru, in which case the appearance of it might change. I only wonder if that might have an effect on the release states. I don't expect them to do anything other than slight differences in appearance as Renji might have developed new Bankai abilities.
Yea they are going to change the looks of it. Hope for something more badass than bamboo style bankai though. We just have to wait and see
