just tried both those, neither worked :(, if i can be bothered I'll call sony. I really dont play it that much anymore anyway. Still sucks though.
yeah I had to start a new game wen i played too, wich i thought was odd because I wasthought i had saves (no sure though). and playing i, the game was glitchier then normal.
hey guys, earlier today I was playing fallout 3 and left it on pause and went away for probably half an hour, came back and the system is off (with the red light as in stand by mode)
I turn it back owith the ps button on the controll, nothing happens, I press the button, it starts, then beeps 3 times really fast and turns straight back off. then the red light flashes. didnt feel too hot or anything. anyone know if my ps3 is dead or if i can fix it without too much hasle?

Hmm, you said your brother is having issues too? Are you guys in the same household (w/ 2 separate systems)? If so, I'm not sure what I tell you to make it better but it could just be overall network problem that is ISP related. If you're trying to do a FW update have you tried maybe installing it from a USB or SD off their website?
Hell, I'm sorry I can't be much help.....sounds like it could be something corrupted about the file/FW that you're trying to install. Wish I could be more help :(
yeah were in the same house using the same internet. I havent tried the usb thing, i might when i can be bothered. we recently changed our internet plan to a faster one, could it be that?
Chunk it out the window, set it on fire, then pee on it to put the fire out :P ive always wanted to pee on a fire.......but i guess you could just as well set a piece of wood on fire and pee on that instead. Idk, dont listen to me. Ive had a weird day...freham2001
