Think of Legend of Mana as more of a sim than an adventure game. You can rush through the game and dominate it pretty quickly. However, if you enjoy breeding your own combat pet, cultivating odd crops, and mastering many different weapon skills and styles then this game is worth a look. Plus, the music and graphics are good even for today (if you like the art style) and it provides good replayability if you somehow botched the world building aspect the first time around.
