The new web page is slow. I'm not going to leave, but it's worth pointing out that it makes me want to go someplace else. This one loads too much crap that I don't care about.

People did play the beta only a few weeks ago, and I doubt the game changed a lot in that time frame... lots of people of put enough time into this game to know if it's worth it.

To OP, I wasn't sure if the game had single player, and my only incentive to buy it was because of that. I played the game during the beta and I thought it was similar to Call of Duty (match making/general feel of combat), but with Mechs. I liked the movement mechanics (for both), and I'm not against heavy deathmatch-influenced games (which is pretty much the definition of Call of Duty - fast, run and gun, all for yourself usually), but I feel Battlefield 4 does more, on the whole, with less restrictions (basically, it's more tactical, since maps are larger, more open, and there are vehicles). I also didn't like that games were 6v6 in Titan Fall (vs 64 max for BF4), regardless if there are a bunch of npc soldiers running around to make it feel "epic". Maybe that will change in the future, specifically for PC, but I kind of doubt it, since people could have done the same thing for Modern Warfare 3, but didn't (Modern Warfare 2 had servers, Modern Warfare 3 went to matchmaking instead).

I dunno. I think if you're bored of Ghost, or any of the other Call of Duty games, and don't have Battlefield 4, I would recommend that or Titan Fall if you're looking to mix things up. They provide different styles of gameplay, and that's not a bad thing. I would play Titan Fall if I was in the mood for Call of Duty, but these days I'm leaning more towards Battlefield.

And, for the record, I never played Battlefield 3. During that time, I was playing Modern Warfare and Black Ops 1 (but not Black Ops 2). Before that, it was 2142 and World at War, so I don't necessarily consider myself bias towards one niche game versus another - they just play differently, and sometimes one appeals to me more than the other at the moment.

@Strangeado: The gamespot review of the game recommends you plug in a 360 controller.

Also, if you do decide to purchase it from Amazon, don't buy from Plato's, which happens to be the cheapest. They described the item as "new", but the outside box, while unopened, was roughed up a little and not really new. If you're a freak like me and want your boxes in pristine condition, try a different seller.

Amazon has many Survival Editions for sale. They aren't cheap (140-210), but they're there. The Sights and Sounds pack doesn't appear to be in the store, but if you do a google search, there is one link I saw that will apparently allow you to unlock it... though I would be wary of using the keygen it provides. But, for all I know, that could have been released by Sony. I dunno.

The Ottoman Empire didn't form until late 1200's, early 1300's. A lot of the factions you'll probably get to play aren't even around anymore. Since the game starts when Rome is made a Republic, so 500-400 BC, you'll start at nearly the very beginning and will have to conquer everything, so this will include Hispania, Germania, Britannia, Gaul, Illyria, Macedonia, Armenia, Dacia, Thrace, Syria, Parthia, Egypt, Carthage and Numidia. What you know as the Ottoman Empire didn't even exist at this point in time since the Turks were nomadic. We might see the Achaemenid empire, or Persia, which will probably be the closest to the Ottomans. Like alooy said, you will want to play Empire Total War if you want a faction that is 100% Ottoman. Medieval Total War will have the Seljuq Turks, which were the precursor to the Ottomans.

Did anyone else find this guy extremely annoying? I couldn't wait to get away from him. He was constantly talking and telling me about stuff I didn't care about.
