I'm new to this forum and searched for solutions for the issue I'm having. I apologize if the solution is already explained in another forum which I missed. I'm trying to stream video files (mostly high definition mkv files) from my pc to PS3 using Tversity. When I play the video files on PS3, they are always choppy/ stuttering. How can I overcome this? I even tried on some different format files like the MP4 and they give the same trouble. I have a router (N) which can support 150Mbps and USB adapter (N) on my PC which can support up to 150 Mbps. What could possibly be the issue? I've been struggling with this for a longtime but couldn't resolve it. I would appreciate if you experts can jump and help me. Thanks a lot!.jackonpetra

While I cannot speak specificly to problems with Tversity, I've never had much luck with streaming video content wirelessly to the PS3. I have 4 computers set up in my home and all of them are recognized as media servers on my PS3. I get consistantly get choppy playback and random disconnects. Whether or not this is do to wireless interference, a lousy router, or something else I have no idea.

I have since switched to a WIRED network in my home (it was a mess hooking it all up) and no longer have ANY of these issues. Based on this, I think you can probably blame the wireless connection.

[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]After reading your blog not to sound offensive but you kind of sound like a noob. Yun and Yang are not even the best characters it's fei long. As for lag don't play anyone that isn't at least a yellow bar, lag can't be a main issue because I one frame link every time I use Fei long's crouching medium.Fightingfan

The blog was exaggerated for the purpose of amusement, however I do find that at higher levels of play the game tends to get stale. As for the technical quirks, perhaps I am just unfortunate.

As for the argument of best character, I think that depends more on the player than any tier list, but I appreciate your thoughts.

Just out of curiosity are you a dualshock user or stick?

I have been using an arcade stick which I have built from components I ordered from Happ Controls for several years now.

Hi, excuse my english not a native speaker. I have been a PC gamer for years and recently I bought a PS3. I was going to buy a blue-ray player anyway, why not buy a ps3? So, I got a media center that could play games, cool. After playing some games I started noticing something strange about the graphics, while moving around the camera in Assassin's Creed 2 I noticed the images in the background would leave a ghost trail.Tenshibr

Ghosting, tiling, and artifacting can be caused by failing hardware, mainly, the video hardware. Does it do this with all the video outputs on the system or just one? If you are using HDMI, try the regular AV and see if the problem persist. I hope I interpreted your message correctly.

Ive seen countless stories on these forums about PS3's breaking and how many you've had, and all that stuff. I dont know if you beat them with a sledgehammer or not, but ive had my 40 GB PS3 since launch, and it hasnt failed me yet! *Knocks on wood*. So whats the deal?Vanillamarble

I blame the poor thermal compound used in the original system design. The newer models seem to disipate heat much better. Either that or Sony is nuking them over the playstation network to get all of the backwards compatable models off of the market! Just kidding, I don't honestly beleive that ;-)

I didn't. One would eject about a quarter inch, and I had to pull it out the rest of the way. The second came 1/4 out, then also had to be pulled out.donbar85

Try a hard reset and see if you get any display afterward. You can find instructions here.

I hope this helps!

I don't usually sound off and rant too much about my gaming experiences on PSN. From a purely technical standpoint there seem to be plenty of issues, but I was wondering what game specific issues people encounter that makes network play on SSF4AE unenjoyable for them?

I've sounded off on this in great detail here, but I'd still like to hear everyone elses thoughts.

I would just like to add, ,that I think it would be a GREAT idea to redesign the PS3.  Sure it looks nice, but Sony needs to be able to manufacture this thing alot cheaper.  Nintendo makes money on every Wii, and Sony LOSES money on every PS3.  If they can cut any corners, I really think it would help stabilize the after-launch staleness.

Why not put in a forum to discuss games and hardware for past systems? Wouldn't it be great to have a place to talk about dreamcast, saturn, sega cd, 3dO, and Atari Jaguar?
