Overall it was a rather poor conference. Gears 2 ,FF13, and Banjo certainly owned the show.
RE5 looks absolutely disappointing. Everything is exactly the same as RE4 aside from characters, graphics, and the setting. The AI had no new tricks, there were few gameplay improvements... my hype for RE5 was shot down significantly.
Gears 2 really impressed me though.

I completely agree. It's really sad that even the character animations are the same as RE4 when you shootsomeone. It's kind of pathetic.
Even Fallout 3, which I'm still hyped about was rather disappointing. The new fighting system looks kind of lame...
Okay I know this belongs in the SW:KOTOR forums, but bearly anyone posts there anymore and this has to do with backwards compatibility.
Anyway, I bougt the game recently and everytime I get to part at the begining where the escape pod crash lands the screen goes black, but I can still hear the music. What's the problem? I have the latest emulation update so that coudln't be it.

In all fairness, I haven't played enough Mass Effect to judge(played a couple hours at my friends). I just loved Jade Empire.
I would assume at this point, MS is pushing all of their exclusives hard, because Sony is releasing a lot this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced more about it soon.
Why are you talking as if a sequel has been anounced it hasn't. There is no Jade Empire 2 and there never will be. If one was coming it would've already been anounced. Anyway, Bioware is too busy with better, more important stuff like ME2.
