The third generations were kids orphaned or seperated from their parents during the Covenant war. These kids were not specificaly chosen and are all volunteers. They however were made to be more expendable, unlike the Spartan II's, thus their armour is not as strong, nor are their augmentations as severe. Many of the Spartan III's undertake suicide missions, with only a handful out of hundreds returning after each campaign. This is supposedly where the rookie (or is it the whole squad?) featured in Reach comes from.

Halo Reach took place before the first halo game, storywise. The spartans in Reach are all Spartan IIs, and its from the battle in space (not shown in the game) that Captain Keyes randomly jumps into slipspace and stumbles upon halo.

It's more like civ than sins of a solar empire. Less combat control, more about structuring a society. It's definitely worth the money though, I find it very entertaining.

Yep. got my refund a few days ago. Just sent them a ticket that said blizzard store exchange/refund and had to reopen the ticket twice because of their damn bot that tries to get you to forget.

Diablo II just disguised the grind better. The only problem I really have with the game is item randomization. Legendary weapons in D2 kicked way more ass.

If it's only interesting for 20 levels, why would you call it interesting?

Would it really have been too hard to allow you to preview the game you are joining? Rather than just join and hope you're in a game with a group rather than one AFK or imcompetent other player? I can't tell you how many times I've joined a game where the host doesn't even know he had the game open to the public and he's just sitting around his stash running to merchants and doing a horrible job at communicating.

Long story short, Dark Souls did singleplayer/offline-multiplayer/online perfectly. Diablo III has not.
