From most of the statements and rumors I've been reading over the past few weeks, if and when the new PS3 SKU launches, there is a high likelihood that it will not have backwards compatibility. If this is important to you, then you should pick up the 80 gig units while they are still available. If BC is not an issue, and you don't mind waiting a month or two for official word on a forthcoming PS3 with a larger HDD, packed-in DS3, etc., then wait it out. 2headedhawaiian

Makes sense man. Good point. Kind of funny (yet irritating too) how Sony keeps coming up with all these new models and then kills them months later...what do you think they'll sit on? 1 Terabyte?

Thus, by decreasing the price of the PS3 they put themselves in a position to better increase their userbase, thus increasing their profits.

And to everyone else that says "Proof?" How can I provide proof when it was a phone call that I made in the days past? And with all the smilies is simply immaturity to the maximum.

Every once in a while I go through my cabinet and somehow I manage to find a cracked case for some of my games. I don't know how they get cracked, but that's not the point of the topic...what I'm asking is, is it possible to get the clear part replaced somewhere?

I know you can get replacement cases for CDs at places like HMV (etc) for example, but I was wondering if anyone knew any other places because when I was there, there were no caes with the little circle part at the edge where the cases connect, so they have to be a certain kind of case...

So yeah, ideas / help?

This is a frequent occurance, on my collection list, http://www.gamespot.com/users/AdolChristin/games_table?mode=own&sort=title , there is frequently blank areas listed. This usually happens to me about once to twice a month.

If I may ask, what is the cause of this, can you fix it, and what really is it (meaning like error / glitch) - but it's continuous so why can't you prevent it perminantly?

The thing I don't get is as soon as they drop the price of the 60 GB, they say that they're not going to make it anymore. How long in time difference was that? A few days to a week?

I think they should keep the 60 and 80 GB consoles running, but then again, you never know.

I wouldn't be suprised if they came out with a larger hard drive soon. 120 GB anyone?
