@Cactuar512 LA is mentioned as a potential location. Personally, I'd hate to see it -- we've seen enough dark, gritty, colorless survival horror lately, and the Bone Yard would be much more bleak and lifeless than the Mojave Wasteland. But, it wouldn't be Vegas all over again.

Wow. Shocked to see this and The Last of Us share the same score. Gamespot must not be fond of the PS3 these days.

Have to confess, I'm disappointed with this news.

It's strange to think that Sony's decision to rebuke DRM at a time when Microsoft pushed it may well have saved used console games and preserved the industry...for Microsoft's benefit! Let's not forget, if Sony played along with Microsoft's DRM ideas consumers would be screwed by now.

...Maybe I'm just an old-fashioned consumer but I don't believe Microsoft should be so easily forgiven for finally 'seeing the light.'

"I do think the idea of ownership is morphing...we no longer believe you are entitled to own the games you purchase."

Gamers and gun owners do have a lot in common. Both groups are extremely overdefensive, and both are absolutely incapable of having rational, nuanced discussion about the potential adverse effects of their beloved hobbies.

...I'm a diehard gamer and I love my videogames. I don't think violence in most games is problematic, though I do think there's lots to criticize in games. But Governor Malloy isn't trying to ban videogames, any more than Barack Obama is trying to ban guns. By reacting so impulsively to criticism of the medium, you reinforce negative stereotypes about gaming culture and how 'addictive' videogames can be.

I've never played an Atelier game in my life, so the mediocre review might be justified and I just might not know any better.

But there's just something extremely unsettling about Gamespot calling this game out for 'sexualized outfits' while refusing to make the same kinds of criticisms regarding an abundance of other games that are more brazenly sexist in their portrayals of women.

...For that matter, the reviewer's criticism of the aesthetics of the world as "sickeningly sweet" seems to suggest that he's just not the intended audience for the product, and therefore has no place reviewing the title. It's akin to having someone who hates the masculine stereotype of a blood-drenched, violent and militaristic atmosphere review the next Call of Duty.

Even if you believe that video games are 'art' (and I do!), I'm not sure how that dismisses the feasibility of changing a terrible ending. Art can still be objectively terrible, and the best artists concede their mistakes and learn from them. If you commission a great artist to draw you a portrait and they forget to include an ear or an eye, that artist has even more integrity, not less, if he or she acknowledges the error and corrects it. A story without denouement, without closure, and pockmarked with massive plot holes is akin to a botched painting. The right authors should be **eager** to correct those mistakes.

It's pretty hysterical how, in its overt effort to demonize the legions of varied fans of the series who wanted Mass Effect's ending to change, Gamespot sounds every bit as entitled and irrationally angry as the fans they're accusing.
