As everyone said before, 8600GT is the best bang for your buck. I have the GTS version and it's roughly 10% faster, but it's a 70 dollar difference between the two. My GTS was able to score 6100+ on 3dmark06 with a e6320, so it can give you a rough idea of the cards power.

Only true upgrade from that is a X1950XT or a 8800GTS 320MB,7600GT to 8600 is a bad idea.
