yeah man thank you for your input, but I did in fact delete them both straight away, both save data and utility. I only got 3 minutes into the prologue before the game died on me so.. I deleted them on the first disc, tried 3 or 4 times doing that and no success. I then got the second disc and did the same thing, deleted the data and utility and tried again.. still no luck. Because my PS3 is fairly new and I haven't actually played many games on it because I couldn't be bothered to start over again when my first PS3 broke I am tempted restore the PS3 and format the hard-drive.. but there is only one game that won't transfer to a USB which I'm annoyed about and I don't want to buy PS+ all to see if I can play TLOU.. I feel I am just wasting my money now. I read some peoples posts on here http://www.chaoshour.com/articles/news/the-last-of-us-ps3-pc-broken-disc-crashing-freezing-loading-screen-problem-bugs-and-glitches-fix-it and some person has the EXACT same problems in the exact same places as me so I'm starting to think it possibly could be a PS update issue? I just hope Naughty Dog or Sony can do something about this soon without me sending off my PS3 for no entire reason. So annoyed and disappointed. I have not bought a game in like.... 2 years or something now.. just because I have busy and not really had the time to play games and stuff and if I did play games then it was the ones I already have. So I was so looking forward to TLOU and this mess happens. Such a waste.
Yeah I bought the game on release day, didn't play well.. everything that I explained happened the first time. Straight away thought it was the game due to my PS3 working fine, took it back to the shop the same day and requested a new disc, got home, the exact same glitches and freezes happen at the exact same moments in the game. I just do not know what is up with it? I would like to hope its a PS3 update that's causing the problem and not the console.. as there is nothing wrong with it due to it playing just fine and I don't want to send it of for no entire reason and maybe even risking damage to console doing so. I feel the same way, they picked up the auto-save glitch within hours but not one word has been spoken about this issue! which is utterly ridiculous being we cannot even play the damn thing! how can they not pick up on this.. they found the auto glitch by people talking about this on the internet so why cant they see this problem?
I have searched quite a few forums now looking for answers to why I literally cannot play this game due to it completely going crazy on me. Crazy being: The characters and environments completely popping in and out, the audio completely disappearing, cut-scenes all laggy and freezing throughout. Basically, I cannot get past 3 minutes into the prologue without the game entirely seizing up on me, I've tried everything to get this game to work and have had NO success at all. All my other games work perfectly fine and play fine with no freezing or glitching so I was convinced it couldn't be the console otherwise it wouldn't play any games if the eye readers was faulty or straight up broken. I have already had the original 60GB model which had a broken eye reader and it wouldn't play any game at all (in which every time I entered a game a (800E...something) error code came up). So I figured if I had this problem again I would surely know if I had it. Well I had one final attempt to make the game work today and no success again, so I took it back to the shop and they wouldn't refund me because they tested it on their machine (PS3 Slim) and it worked perfectly fine (no glitching, freezing, character pop outs, nothing!). So at this point I was gutted due to nothing being wrong with the disc... which leaves me with a perfectly working Last of us game and a dodgy PS3 that I have BARELY played due to it being practically brand new which cannot play this game. Point being.. anyone who has this problem.. I think your PS3 needs to literally be absolutely perfect! (I never move my PS3 whilst a game is inside so I am utterly confused to why and how my PS3 has this problem if I barely used the damn thing!) Looks like I'm sending off my Slim to see if there's a problem..
Yeah I know it is so frustrating! I too cleared my saved game data as my PS3 is practically new and I haven't played it often since I got a new one and I'm not too fused about the data being deleted because I've already completed the Games. I have the PS3 Slim and I have read quite a few other posts with people having the Slim version with out exact same problem?.. I'm not sure whether this could be a console problem or a mix between the two because everyone else's console seems to also every other game perfectly fine. So when people have suggested that the eye reader is damaged, I don't see how that can be the issue if it plays every single other game I have perfectly fine?.. I think I have come to the conclusion that it possible that it is a mixture of the Game and the Consoles fault?.. maybe a new PS3 update?.. I don't know but I am truly disappointed that I have waited this long and haven't even been able to get past the damn prologue! I mean what the hell is up with that! shocking.. I am going to give it one last attempt to see if I can do anything to get it to work.. if not, back to the shop it goes. I'm not having £40 just wasted sitting on the side not being used.
yeah i have the same problem, straight away i knew something was wrong because even the audio on the menu screen was glitching and cutting out. So i carried on creating a new save file, which took forever as everyone has said already on other forums but the main problem is that the game on my ps3 is literally unplayable! The first cinematic cut-scene took way longer than it should have due to the audio and game stuttering along, missing stuff out.. it was like it had to buffer every 2 seconds it was just horrible to watch. Which then lead to the little actual game cut-scene where there was no audio at all and the character popping in and out of action. basically.. 4 minutes later, characters were jumping all over the place, turning in the wrong direction, environments popping in and out.. the whole lot going crazy and everything came to a freeze when two characters should have clearly been sitting down but they both jolted up in the kind of Jesus pose as if you was going to texture a character whilst in production for the game.. at this point my game froze and every time i try to do things again and reset..all these events that I've just explained either happen worse than the first time around or just do EXACTLY the same. As other people have been saying.. my other games work perfectly fine?.. its simply just this game.. i never move my PS3 when a game is in so it doesn't damage the eye reader, and my ps3 is practically brand new.. I've barely played the thing shall i wait to see if this is a patch or you reckon i should take the game back until i get the console checked?
