What terrible years of PES we had on PS3. I remember the good old days on PS2 when PES was fun to play. Always wondering when they would be back. Finally... PES is back... and this is both a good thing and sad at the same time.
Football games are all about gameplay to me. Yes features and other things are important, but without gameplay we have nothing. PES15 plays much better than anything we had on PS3. We have gone from the most horrible PES ever on PS3, PES14, to the much better PES15 on PS4. Its an amazing achievement, to improve so much in 1 year. But this is not enough! PES15 has gone back 10 years! This is about as good as what i played on PS2 when i was a teen!! Where is the next gen PES that we can say is better than PS2 PES? Will there ever be a true PS4 PES?
PES15 is a good game, but very dated. It feels good, just like the dated PS2 games. When will Konami improve the gameplay to next gen level? I'm tired of ping pong passing, people defending with CPU pressure (hold X and square), and the bad AI with teams split over the entire field, leading to same old long pass. When will PES address these issues and become a true next gen experience, with amazing passing, physics, AI, defending, shooting.
Issues with the dated gameplay come more to view when playing online. You will play against people who non stop long pass to CR7 or Bale online. Trying to score the same old 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper. Mix that with lag and it can be very painful to play some games. I personally had to quit because i was so bored of playing vs people. After 57 games i played and only 1 silly loss... i didn't quit because i lose, i quit because PES becomes boring dude to people abusing the dated gameplay, where the CPU defends more than the player... hold X and square.
When it comes to features PES15 is also very dated. I'm tired of the same old online competition mode where you win 3 of 3 5min games and get disqualified! Its just too funny if you think about it... what are Konami thinking. Master League, Become a Legend... all these modes feel the same as previous years. When will Konami give us ranked 2v2 online? It doesn't take much intelligence to think of new fun modes. How about improving the Master League... Jesus... its always so plain boring! Its about as advanced as Master League on PS2!! LOL
At least we have something that we can play. PES is by far better than Fifa, but i wont be buying anymore PES until they make something truly beast. If i want PS2 quality PES i already have PES15. There is no reason to buy another PES unless Konami can actually make a PS4 quality game.
