It shows how far it has fallen behind Fifa its still a good game but not a patch on Fifa 10

PES was once the king of the soccer titles but it has fallen away from that for a while and this game hardly is any different from previous PES titles.

Gameplay

Well the game is basically the same as the last one with just different players at different teams. It is quiet fast paced and some people like the more fast paced gameplay but unlike Fifa it doesn't feel as rewarding when scoring from a free kick or when blasting in a 30 yarder. Also for some tackles you can get sent off and in normal soccer you might only get a telling off for that. So no change in the gameplay and quiet frankly its getting old and boring now.

Modes

Well you have the usual modes. International Cup,Master League,Become A Legend and a League mode. Become A Legend Mode will let you build up your own created player but it takes alot of time and boy does it get boring whereas Fifa if you play be a Pro Mode it won't take long to play in the first team and Become a Legend gets old fast. If you are patient enough to wait for a top club but boy will it take some time. The Cups and Leagues are like last years edition. The online mode is slightly better but thats not saying much. There will still be plenty of lag but it will take a while to get a good match. So there are plenty of modes but they don't seem to have the depth of the Fifa games and the gameplay seems old and dated. It's not a bad thing if you like the same basic gameplay but there comes a time when a massive change to a franchise is needed.

Graphics and Sound

The graphics are actually quiet good and they certainly do look like the players themselves but when you celebrate a goal you can't really choose your celebration unlike Fifa. The commentary is the same as last year and I hated the commentators on the last game. I mean unlike Fifa which talks about certain teams history PES doesn't do that. Also the game lacks atmosphere and the crowd seem so bored sometimes.

Lastabilty

There's online and plenty of cups so it might keep the true PES fans happy but it can get old fast.

Overall Opinion

While it lacks what Fifa has which iss good slick gameplay and a ton of modes it is still fun to play but it doesn't seem as rewarding. The game also lacks the proper licenses for most teams whereas its rival Fifa has the official licenses to teams and stadiums this doesn't have all of them only some.

The AI is quiet poor compared to Fifas so you might only play it with friends. If you can stand the online then you might get more out of it but if you are looking for a true soccer game get Fifa 10. I personally think this game is dated and needs a huge change to even challenge Fifa dominance of the soccer titles. It's not a bad game but its not a good game either. I would say rent it or try a demo before deciding but this is not a true next gen soccer experience. Konami really need to take PES to the next gen and they haven't done that unlike EA have with Fifa.
