This football game is not the evolution you've been waiting for.

User Rating: 7 | Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 PS3
Pro Evolution Soccer has always been beaten by the FIFA series, and when playing this and comparing it you will definately see why. The game is really for people who want to have a bit of fun, and not go about the game strategically, and trying to improve the teams overall quality.
The bad points here include false kits and player names, also club names are remarkably not licensed. Konami try to improve with each step in the series, but sadly this latest installment has also dropped the spanish clubs license.

During gameplay you will notice the graphics are not up to par with most games of this gen and there just aren't enough player animations, either when tackling or when the keeper saves shots, to really mix things up a bit. When you are playing the match, some elements are enjoyable. For me its when you are losing, time is running out and the adrenaline is pumping through your veins. Then you step up, score a 30 yard free kick, and win the game in injury time of the second half. You get remarkable satisfaction and can change your view of the game and ignore the noticeable faults.

Overall, Pro evo 09 is not a bad game, but it certainly isn't a great game.
